When hers is taken from her after she is kidnapped and forced to the isolated space habitat of Atlas Station, she's ready to fight anyone who gets in her way. When she learns she can't return to Earth, she grudgingly accepts the position at the understaffed clinic, where she throws herself into her work and struggles to understand the dynamics of life on the station.When family and station secrets start to entwine, Faye learns that neither the station nor the people are what they seem. When her connection to a Councilmember is made public knowledge, her new life is threatened. Troubles are stirring in the station's underbelly. The mayor is murdered, and an anti-council group makes themselves known. Faye must learn to protect herself and those she loves while coming to the realization that freedom and safety are privileges not all can afford.
