7. februar 2005 nådde Ellen MacArthur(30) den engelske kanal etter å ha satt en utrolig verdensrekord i soloseilas verden rundt med sin 60 fot lange toskrogsbåt B&Q. Jorden rundt på 71 dager, en dagbok fra verdensrekordseilasen, basert på forfatterens notater og mailer hun sendte hjem. Boken er rikt illustrert med flere hundre bilder, dels fra Ellens ensomme og farefulle liv om bord, dels fantastiske naturfotos særlig fra Sørishavet.
