Ethel M. Dell (2 August 1881 - 19 September 1939) was a British writer of over 30 popular romance novels and several short stories from 1911 to 1939.Ethel May Dell was born on 2 August 1881 in Streatham, a suburb of London, England. Her father was a clerk in the City of London and she had an older sister and brother. Her family was middle class and lived a comfortable life. Ethel Dell was a very shy, quiet girl and was content to be dominated by her family. She began to write stories while very young and many of them were published in popular magazines. Beneath her shy exterior, she had a passionate heart and most of her stories were stories of passion and love set in India and other old British colonial possessions. They were considered to be very racy and her cousins would pull out pencils to try and count up the number of times she used the words: passion, tremble, pant and thrill. Pictures of her are very rare and she was never interviewed by the press.Ethel Dell worked on a novel for several years, but it was rejected by eight publishers. Finally the publisher T. Fisher Unwin bought the book for their First Novel Library, a series which introduced a writer's first book. This book, entitled The Way of an Eagle, was published in 1911 and by 1915 it had gone through thirty printings.

Do you struggle with relationships? Do you ever wish there was someone who could tell you what to do? Wouldn't it be great if a kindhearted, wise mother would just take you under her wing and lovingly explain everything you need to know and give you big hugs when you needed them? Well, Ethel is that wonderful, caring Jewish mother. And being Messianic, she brings with her the best wisdom from the whole Bible and from her own personal relationship trials and triumphs. You will learn much from her simple, direct, personable advice and stories.Jewish Mama, Ethel, gives friendly, motherly advice on how to have good friendships, great love relationships, and a peaceful marriage. Ethel weaves her own story of rejection and hurt in between the advice. What others are saying: "Reading this book is like sitting with your best friend over coffee and having a long chat about what's on your heart. Ethel writes in a very conversational manner, inviting the reader to consider some of the nuggets of wisdom she has collected in her walk as a Jewish believer, and wife and mother" (endorsement by Corry Keeler, worship leader, international recording artist, and director of Lev Shelo Ministries)."Ethel's writing style is honest, approachable, and pragmatic without being preachy. You will appreciate Ethel's folksy, matter-of-fact, and sometimes raw presentation. There is a chapter about listening, a chapter about forgiveness, and even a chapter about how to disagree with one's spouse respectfully and lovingly. Ethel's wise counsel is punctuated with humor, honesty, scripture, and real-life experience. Plus, she plainly and frequently points to Yeshua, His words, His teachings, and His ways" (endorsement by Sue Samuel, Messianic Worship Leader/Recording Artist)."There is no one more qualified to share her life in the Lord with yours than this Jewish mother who loves the blessed and divine Son of another Jewish mother-and has dedicated her life to caring for the family birthed in His Name. So why don't you toast a bagel, take a seat at Ethel's table and receive a blessing from what she has to offer. Enjoy " (Endorsement by Marty Goetz Ministries/House Of Worship, Messianic Music Minister.)"Love the birds Appreciate the book recommendations. The layout is easy on the eye."
