Fabien is a brave and curious alien from the planet Cosmo who is excited to have an adventure. He visits a new planet that his friend Adrien found in her travels, with dinos and cavemen with long hair and beards. "Be careful, don't land and get out," she warns. "This is a planet we don't know about." As Fabien flies over the planet, he decides he wants to land and see even more. From wandering around in a sea dino's mouth to a game of hide-and-seek with an energetic T-rex, Fabien has a great time on this strange new planet-that is, until a pair of dino birds fly away with his spaceship in their claws Now Fabien's adventure has become a challenge to retrieve his stolen spaceship. And with the help of his new friend, Mongo, a brave cave boy who carries a bongo, he just might be able to find his spaceship and fly home.

"Drawing is a line of life that I cling to in order not to fail" - Fabien Merelle "A free spirit capable of creating and imposing both his highly-personal imaginary world and a similarity of meaning" - Artillery Magazine One hundred drawings and a selection of sculpture by emerging French artist Fabien Merelle, whose work has been exhibited worldwide to international acclaim. Winner of the 2010 Prix Canson, awarded annually for outstanding work on paper. Fabien Merelle is a French artist whose delicate and intricate drawings look realistic but on closer examination convey otherworldly and often disquieting subjects. Stuck to the pregnant belly of his wife, an elephant clinging on his back, or in close embrace with his father, Fabien Merelle portrays himself as the protagonist in his drawings in an absurd and surrealistic play. He is known for the anatomical precision of his figures, the sea of white that surrounds them, and the dreamlike quality of his work. This book combines the highlights from his oeuvre to date, with a hundred drawings and a selection of sculptures. Merelle has exhibited at The Armory Show in New York, at Art Paris, and was one of the most prominent artists in Jan Fabre's recently curated show, The Raft (Mu.Zee Oostende). In 2010, he was the first winner of the Prix Canson, awarded annually for outstanding work on paper. Text in English and French. Published to accompany a solo show in Edouard Malingue Gallery, Shanghai, October 2019, and a solo show in KETELEER GALLERY ANTWERP. May 2019.
