This book is a collection of multiple styles of poetry through the eyes that divide the mind of a beautiful soul and provoke both emotions and deep thoughts.
Many men silently suffer with mental health issues. T.D. Harvey gives a real life account of the many moments that helped to shape his life. Mental health issues are a real problem that plague the black community. T.D Harvey touches on the challenges associated with the educational struggles, fatherhood, and the lack of financial literacy in the black community. Moments In Our Mirror reminds us that our communities are made up of regular people that do extraordinary things in the midst of many silent battles.
In 2020, the world was on edge; the United States of America was spiraling out of control. Racial unrest and tension were on the brink of a civil catastrophe. The COVID-19 virus had made landfall, declaring war on the most powerful nation in the world. People were taking to the streets of America demanding social justice as a whole. The police were reckless with justice and didn't particularly care who it offended. The leadership of America was in dire straits simply because we couldn't find anyone to just tell us the truth. In this book we get very candid and raw in commentary form with an insightful look at the justice system as we also give a diversified look at racial injustice-from on the inside of what poverty looks like. You will come to know and understand why people think the way that they think about those that don't look like them, why there were so many multi-racial protests, and why there were violent protests. This book will take the reader on an emotional and mentally challenging roller-coaster ride--even when the ride is over your heart will still be beating fast in your chest. This book will introduce you to the "Slow Drip Theory" that explains how the George Floyd murder helped to ignite a nation into action and exposes the system of "just us" (justice) for what it really is.Stay tuned for the next book from Dr. T.K. Harvey-Allen entitled, "Who Is God...Theology Made Plain, Book I".
T. Edmund Harvey (1875–1955) is a unique figure, a Quaker who was a member of the British parliament in both world wars. He began as a Liberal Radical MP under Asquith and ended as an Independent Progressive in Churchill’s wartime Parliament. He was a child of the Quaker Renaissance, a post-Victorian Christian gentleman whose religious and political life coincided with the era in Quaker history of ‘liberalism ascendant’, an era he helped shape. Harvey’s career evinces a fourfold typology of British Quakers, as liberals, socialists, anarchists and experientialists.
