In his youth although he belonged to a prominent family he worked as an apprentice in a bakery where he met Khusrau who took him to meet his master the Sufi Spiritual Master Nizam ud-din Auliya of the Chishti order. He composed over 800 ghazals, being influenced by Sadi he began to be called the 'Sadi of Hindustan'.
