Nanoparticles are considered as fundamental of Nanoscience and nanotechnology. Physical, chemical and biological methods employed for nanoparticles synthesis can be mainly categorized into Top-down and bottom-up approach. Synthesis of nanoparticles via plant extracts is a biological method that fall under bottom up approach category. The present review covers advantages and disadvantages of various physical and chemical methods used for nanoparticles synthesis, advantages of plant mediated synthesis over other methods, various plant extracts used for the fabrication of silver nanoparticles and their application. It also includes brief glimpse on characterization techniques for nanoparticles and effect of operational parameters on size, size distribution and morphology of nanoparticles.

This book describes adsorption of cupric ions on Phoenix Dactylifera L. leaves is described. The adsorption phenomena is found to be dependent on pH, adsorbent dose, initial concentration, temperature and agitation time. Further this process was evaluated by adsorption isotherms namely langmuir, Fruendlich, Temkin, Hasley, Jonovaic and so. Kinetic models pseudo first order, pseudo second order, Elovich, Intra-particle diffusion are also evaluated. The optimum conditions for cupric ion uptake were found to pH=1.5, adsorbent dose =0.2 gm, initial concentration= 10ppm, agitation time =30 minutes . The adsorption is best described by Temkin adsorption isotherm model and pseudo second order kinetic model. The maximum adsorption capacity was evaluated to be 2.48 mg/g.

In diesem Buch wird die Adsorption von Kupfer-Ionen auf den Bl ttern von Phoenix Dactylifera L. beschrieben. Es wird festgestellt, dass die Adsorptionsph nomene vom pH-Wert, der Adsorptionsmitteldosis, der Anfangskonzentration, der Temperatur und der R hrzeit abh ngig sind. Ferner wurde dieser Prozess mit Hilfe von Adsorptionsisothermen, n mlich Langmuir, Fruendlich, Temkin, Hasley, Jonovaic und so weiter, bewertet. Die kinetischen Modelle pseudo erster Ordnung, pseudo zweiter Ordnung, Elovich und Intrapartikeldiffusion wurden ebenfalls ausgewertet. Die optimalen Bedingungen f r die Aufnahme von Kupferionen sind pH = 1,5, Adsorptionsmitteldosis = 0,2 g, Anfangskonzentration = 10 ppm, R hrzeit = 30 Minuten. Die Adsorption wird am besten durch das Temkin-Adsorptionsisothermenmodell und das kinetische Pseudo-Modell zweiter Ordnung beschrieben. Die maximale Adsorptionskapazit t wurde mit 2,48 mg/g ermittelt.

In der vorliegenden Studie wird der Extrakt aus Phoenix Dactylifera L. auf sein Potenzial zur Verhinderung der Korrosion von Aluminium in saurem 1N HCl-Medium durch Messung des Gewichtsverlusts untersucht. Der Acetonitril-Extrakt von Phoenix Dactylifera L. enth lt eine Vielzahl von Phytochemikalien wie Proteine, Aminos uren, Kohlenhydrate, Phenole, Flavanoide, Phlobatannine, Chinine, Harze, Steroide und Triterpenoide. Diese Phytochemikalien werden an der Oberfl che von Metallplatten durch die in ihnen vorhandenen Heteroatome adsorbiert. Das Adsorptionsverhalten dieser Phytochemikalien auf der Oberfl che von Al-Platten entspricht der Langmuir-Adsorptionsisotherme. Der Wert der freien Gibb'schen Adsorptionsenergie betr gt -7,37 KJ mol-1, was auf eine spontane Physisorption der Extraktmolek le auf der Oberfl che der Al-Platten hinweist.

Dans la pr sente tude, l'extrait de Phoenix Dactylifera L. est analys pour son potentiel de pr vention de la corrosion de l'aluminium en milieu acide HCl 1N par la mesure de la perte de poids. L'extrait ac tonitrile de Phoenix Dactylifera L. comprend une vari t de substances phytochimiques telles que des prot ines, des acides amin s, des hydrates de carbone, des ph nols, des flavano des, des phlobatannins, des quinines, des r sines, des st ro des et des triterp no des. Ces produits phytochimiques sont adsorb s sur la surface des plaques m talliques gr ce aux h t roatomes qu'ils contiennent. Le comportement d'adsorption de ces produits phytochimiques sur la surface des plaques d'Al est conforme l'isotherme d'adsorption de Langmuir. La valeur de l' nergie libre d'adsorption de Gibb est de -7,37 KJ mol-1, ce qui indique une physisorption spontan e des mol cules d'extrait sur la surface des plaques d'Al.
Nel presente studio, l'estratto di Phoenix Dactylifera L. stato analizzato per il suo potenziale di prevenzione della corrosione dell'alluminio in ambiente acido 1N HCl mediante misurazione della perdita di peso. L'estratto di acetonitrile di Phoenix Dactylifera L. comprende una variet di sostanze fitochimiche come proteine, aminoacidi, carboidrati, fenoli, flavanoidi, filobatannini, chinine, resine, steroidi e triterpenoidi. Queste sostanze fitochimiche vengono adsorbite sulla superficie delle piastre metalliche grazie all'atomo etero presente in esse. Il comportamento di adsorbimento di queste sostanze fitochimiche sulla superficie delle piastre di Al conforme all'isoterma di adsorbimento di Langmuir. Il valore dell'energia libera di Gibb per l'adsorbimento risultato pari a -7,37 KJ mol-1, indicando un fisioassorbimento spontaneo delle molecole di estratto sulla superficie delle piastre di Al.

Phoenix Dactylifera L. commonly known as date palm is a dioeceous plant which means it has separate male and female saplings. In the present study, phytochemical screening and proximate value determination of male and female date palm species is carried out so as to understand seasonal and regional variation in them. The analysis of proximate values of male date palm, sweet female date palm and unsweet female date palm revealed that crude fiber and moisture content exhibited significant variation during three seasons: after flowering, during flowering and before flowering seasons. During flowering season, ash content of all three species remained uniform while the moisture content had considerable variation.
