When you're walking really slowly you start to notice many things that you never saw before, because you were just racing past, maybe even looking at your smartphone. If you take a closer look at your surroundings, you can find faces and creatures everywhere; in scratches, water spills, moss, bark, stones. This phenomenon is called Pareidolia. Some people have difficulties to see the creatures, but with a pair of google eyes at the right spot, they become visible for everyone. In this book I've combined the pictures that I took on my travels through Germany, Spain, Portugal, The Netherlands and the USA with little rhymes. Some of them might make you giggle. Wenn man wirklich langsam geht, dann bemerkt man pl tzlich viele kleine Dinge an denen man sonst vorbeigehetzt ist. Mir fiel auf, dass ich berall in Kratzern, Steinen oder Moosb scheln Gesichter oder Tiere entdeckt habe. Dieses Ph nomen nennt sich Pareidolie. Also habe ich begonnen zu fotografieren, um meinen Freunden die tollen Kreaturen zu zeigen, die ich gefunden habe. Einigen meiner Freunde fiel es schwer zu erkennen, was ich gesehen habe. Also habe ich berlegt, wie ich es f r sie einfacher machen k nnte. So wurde die Idee "Mit anderen Augen" geboren. Von da an hatte ich bei jedem Spaziergang ein paar Wackelaugen dabei. Wenn ich eine Kreatur gefunden hatte, habe ich ihr die Wackelaugen aufgeklebt und dann erst mein Foto gemacht. Erstaunlich, wie viel so ein paar Augen ausmachen. Und noch erstaunlicher, wo sich berall Gesichter verstecken, die erst zum Vorschein kommen, wenn man ein paar Augen hinzuf gt. Es gibt so viel zu sehen. I realized that I saw faces and creatures everywhere. In scratches, waterpills, moss, bark, stones. This phenomenon is called Pareidolia. The creatures were hiding everywhere. I started to take pictures to show all these crazy creatures to my friends. But some of my friends had difficulties to see what I saw. So I tried to figure out how I could make it easier for them.That's how the project 'With different eyes' was born.Ever since then, I've been carrying a collection of Goggley-eyes whenever I went for a hike. When I found another creature, I placed the eyes at the right spots and then I took my pictures. It's amazing how much a pair of wiggley eyes to help focus where you look. And it's even more amazing where all of those creatures are hiding and how much easier it is to see them, when you place the eyes at the right spot. There is so much to see if you just open your eyes and look around.Try it out and see the world "with different eyes" In this book, you'll follow me on my hikes and see some of the creatures I found.: )Some of them might make you giggle. This book provides a detailed cross-linguistic study of pseudo-noun incorporation, a phenomenon whereby an argument forms a 'closer than usual' relation with the verb. Imke Driemel draws on data from Tamil, Mongolian, Korean, Turkish, and German, and applies diagnostic tests across eleven noun types in each of the languages under consideration. What emerges is a coherent effect of pseudo-incorporated arguments that maps loss of case marking to obligatory narrow scope, lack of binding and control relations, and a potentially restricted movement pattern. The book provides a unifying theory that is able to capture all properties with a single assumption: pseudo-incorporation effects result from noun phrases that are made up of a nominal and a verbal category feature; implemented in a derivational framework, the nominal feature is active early in the derivation, being responsible for c-selection and nominal modification, while the verbal feature is active late and crucially derives the effects we have come to recognize as pseudo-noun incorporation. One important empirical contribution of this study stems from the observation that pseudo-incorporation does not have to be the only reason for optional case marking. Tamil and Korean provide evidence that only a subset of optionally case-marked noun types also show a correlation with scope, binding, control, and movement constraints. This insight enforces the conclusion that the same language can make use of both pseudo-noun incorporation and differential object marking.

Using the notoriously false reporting of EU policies by the British press as a starting point, it utilises Critical Discourse Analysis to examine the linguistic properties of false news stories and to understand how they function as myth in Roland Barthes’ sense. The disinformation is essential for the impact these news stories had as it provides the simplification which creates the blissful clarity of myth that Barthes described. As myth, the false news stories depoliticised a political argument and naturalised the claim of antagonistic British-European relations. Henkel shows how news stories used disinformation to articulate a Eurosceptic myth of the feisty, witty Briton who stands up against the European bully. Her main argument is that the disinformation contributed to the Brexit vote because, as myth, it transported an ideology. Henkel argues that the Brexit debate and the news reporting that preceded it for decades can be understood as a case study for how political journalism becomes democratically dysfunctional.
