Mercy is the story of a girl that begins in high school during the 1970s. Mercy goes through many trials and has issues that a lot of young girls still go through today. Mercy comes from a large family with very little money. She is raised by a very strict mother who keeps a close eye on her, an alcoholic father, and six siblings. The popular kids at school are mean, and they bully her and say she comes from the wrong side of town. She is trash. Mercy is in love with the most popular boy in school, a senior, and tries to get up enough nerve to ask him to go to the prom with her. She thinks he doesnt even know she exists. But she knows that if she doesnt ask him to prom, he will be off to college next year, and he will never know how much she loves him. Mercy doesnt have anything to give but her virginity to the one she loves. She is trying to save this for the man she marries. This novel is about how hard it is for a girl to hold on to her virginity and morals when everyone else seems to be doing it. Her best friend, Madison, has been with a lot of guys in high school and is jealous of Mercy. Madison is jealous because she is unable to hold to the high standards that Mercy has, and she betrays her in the worst way possible. The guy that Mercy has known for most of her life, went to school with, played with, and grew up with is Travis. Travis has loved Mercy for so long. Mercy knows that Travis loves her, but she just cant get past the friend zone. Mercy loves Benton, and Travis will do whatever Mercy asks of him because he really does wish her true happiness.

The 18th century was a wealth of knowledge, exploration and rapidly growing technology and expanding record-keeping made possible by advances in the printing press. In its determination to preserve the century of revolution, Gale initiated a revolution of its own: digitization of epic proportions to preserve these invaluable works in the largest archive of its kind. Now for the first time these high-quality digital copies of original 18th century manuscripts are available in print, making them highly accessible to libraries, undergraduate students, and independent scholars. The Age of Enlightenment profoundly enriched religious and philosophical understanding and continues to influence present-day thinking. Works collected here include masterpieces by David Hume, Immanuel Kant, and Jean-Jacques Rousseau, as well as religious sermons and moral debates on the issues of the day, such as the slave trade. The Age of Reason saw conflict between Protestantism and Catholicism transformed into one between faith and logic -- a debate that continues in the twenty-first century.++++The below data was compiled from various identification fields in the bibliographic record of this title. "My chief desire in all my writings, is to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ and make Him beautiful and glorious in the eyes of people; and to promote the increase of repentance, faith, and holiness upon earth."
This book was first published in 1966. It was surprising that so small and so remote a country as Switzerland should have played such an important part in the industrial revolution on the Continent in the nineteenth century. A lack of natural resources and basic raw materials and population of 1,687,000 in 1817, faraway trade ports, and until 1848 no real central government with the administrative structure to support expansion of manufacturers. However, the people were hardworking, thrifty and high standards of workmanship; and had good relations with France and Germany, which saw the watchmakers, silkweavers and chocolate crafters start to thrive. Johann Conrad Fischer was typical of the entrepreneurs who laid the foundations of Switzerland's prosperity with his steelworks.
This book is a collection of spiritual experiences, testimonies, frequent quotes and verses for inspiration. A quick reference to words of encouragement for times of doubt and fear. A guide through God's word for divine wisdom. A list of His many promises for those who love Him and keep His commandments. God is Lord of all. His service is available whenever there is a need. He says, come now. Now is the time to seek His truth. May you not only know His name, but know Him as Lord. This is a book for everyone. A book for those searching for answers.

One of the most prolific and successful artists of the Golden Age of American Illustration, J. C. Leyendecker captivated audiences throughout the first half of the 20th century. Leyendecker is best known for his creation of the archetype of the fashionable American male with his advertisements for Arrow Collar. These images sold to an eager public the idea of a glamorous lifestyle, the bedrock upon which modern advertising was built. He also was the creator instantly recognizable icons, such as the New Year’s baby and Santa Claus, that are to this day an integral part of the lexicon of Americana and was commissioned to paint more Saturday Evening Post covers than any other artist. Leyendecker lived for most of his adult life with Charles Beach, the Arrow Collar Man, on whom the stylish men in his artwork were modeled. The first book about the artist in more than 30 years, J. C. Leyendecker features his masterworks, rare paintings, studies, and other artwork, including the 322 covers he did for the Post. With a revealing text that delves into both his artistic evolution and personal life, J. C. Leyendecker restores this iconic image maker’s rightful position in the pantheon of great American artists.
