This is a two act play which is the story of James Chilton, the oldest pilgrim passenger on the Mayflower. He was born a Roman Catholic in Canterbury, County Kent, England and died a committed separatist off Cape Cod in the new world. His wife Susanna was the only pilgrim female to have been excommunicated by the Church of England. James and his family were harried out of the country in the words of King James because of their religious beliefs and fled to Leiden in the Netherlands. James, his wife Susanna and his youngest daughter Mary were passengers on the Mayflower leaving their two older daughters behind in Leiden. The challenge of his life repents that of many of our pilgrim fathers and explains how and why they came to America. The second act of the play tells the story of the Pilgrims first years through the voice of Mary Chilton.

Mary Chilton was the first Pilgrim to step on Plymouth Rock. The First Step tells the story of Mary Chilton Winslow who along with her parents came to the new world aboard the Mayflower and settled in Plimoth Planation. Mary tells how and why she and her parents left Leiden in the Netherlands to settle in the new world and of her experiences in the early days of Plimoth Plantation including being the first person on Plimoth Rock and participating in the First Thanksgiving. With the death of both her parents, Mary at 13 had to make her own way in the wilderness that was America in 1620. She was able to build her life in the new world and could well be considered one of our founding mothers. Mary is played as she would have been in the year 1671, a grandmother, at age 64 and living in Boston 50 years after her arrival on the Mayflower.

Sometimes family history merges our national or state histories. In my case the story of my ancestors can help understand the founding of Connecticut. I have three of my ancestors who helped found the colony of Connecticut in the early 17th century. This is the story of the Phelps, Porter, and Avery families who helped found what is now the state of Connecticut. By telling their real stories can help one understand the early days of the Connecticut.

The instant New York Times bestseller - A New York Times Notable Book - Named a Best Book of the Year by The Economist - Nominated for the Financial Times and Schroders Business Book of the Year Award "Addicted to Succession? Well, here's the real thing." - The Hollywood Reporter "Jaw-dropping . . . an epic tale of toxic wealth and greed populated by connivers and manipulators." --The New York Times Book Review, Editors' Choice The shocking inside story of the struggle for power and control at Paramount Global, the multibillion-dollar entertainment empire controlled by the Redstone family, and the dysfunction, misconduct, and deceit that threatened the future of the company, from the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists who first broke the news In 2016, the fate of Paramount Global's entertainment empire hung precariously in the balance. Its founder and head, ninety-three-year-old Sumner M. Redstone, was facing a very public lawsuit brought by a former romantic companion, Manuela Herzer, which placed Sumner's deteriorating health and questionable judgment under a harsh light. As an all-powerful media mogul, Sumner had been a demanding boss, and an even more demanding father. When his daughter, Shari, took control of the business, she faced the hostility of boards who for years had heard Sumner disparage her. Les Moonves, the CEO of CBS, schemed with his allies on the board to strip Shari of power. But while he publicly battled Shari, news began to leak of Moonves's involvement in multiple instances of sexual misconduct, and he began working behind the scenes to try to make the stories disappear. Unscripted is an explosive and unvarnished look at the usually secret inner workings of two public companies, their boards of directors, and a wealthy, dysfunctional family in the throes of seismic changes. From the Pulitzer Prize- winning journalists James B. Stewart and Rachel Abrams, Unscripted lays bare the battle for power at any price--and the carnage that ensued.

The Shocking Superiority of the King James Bible: The King James Bible's Battle Over the Modern Bible Versions
This book exposes the superiority of the King James Bible over all other English versions, translations and paraphrases of the Bible. There are eight reasons to support the contention that the King James Bible is superior to all other versions. One, it has the command of universal influence particularly in literature, education, and governments. Two, it has survived against all sorts of attacks from all sides for more than 300 years. Three, it was born untainted with wicked philosophies and doctrines. Four, it possesses excellent English language. Five, its underlying texts are faithful copies of the original autographs. Six, its translators were incomparable in quality and piety. Seven, it used an excellent translation techniques. And Eight, its theology is stronger than any Bible versions in English. Each of these reasons is explained and documented. It provides answers to major objections of the superiority of the King James Bible. Specifically, it rules out the King James Bible is inaccurate because it is literal, archaic or difficult to understand. It brushes aside any idea of impurity of the KJB just because it has Roman Catholic and homosexual sources. It overrules any allegations such as: KJB is based on late manuscripts, contains spurious readings, and is not the King James Bible of 1611. This book emphasises that these allegations are false and unsubstantiated. The King James Bible does not only contain the Word of God but it is the very Word of God in English. Not all Hebrew and Greek manuscripts of the Scriptures that are available today are good materials to be used for future translations of the Bible. It is only the Masoretic Hebrew Text (Ben Chayyim edition) of the Old Testament, and the Greek Textus Receptus (Received Text) of the New Testament that are the best manuscripts to be used for future translations of the Bible to any languages.
