Are you searching for the paved way to true holiness for the Christian woman? The inspiring words of Dr. Totziette Slater will serve as your guide on your path to becoming the woman that God intended you to be. The Woman, the Witness, and the Wife: A Concise Christian Manual for Women collectively explores three women in one that the female Christian should strive to embody-the woman, the witness, and the wife, or the "3w girl"-and practical steps you can take to achieve your goal of spiritual excellence. Dr. Slater's captivating insight will catapult you into a mindset of complete humility with a heart for serving God. Along the way, you'll learn to develop a healthy, Christ-centered thought process, acknowledging your weaknesses as well as your strengths, so you can begin to manage your spiritual walk more effectively. With her perceptive teaching, Slater demonstrates how to understand yourself through the illustration of twelve houses, each representing a certain type of woman at a specific spiritual level. Her approach will enable you to identify the state of your spiritual, emotional, and relational structure and foundation, so you can then begin to fulfill your God-given purpose and aid in the success of other women. The pages of this written journey will enhance your life as a Christian woman, witness, and wife and encourage you to pursue a more excellent walk with God. Dr. Totziette Slater has dedicated her life to seeking the will of God and teaching young women to relentlessly follow Christ. One of her greatest desires is to help the next woman in line to succeed in every area of her life. Dr. Slater has been happily married to the most honorable Dr. Roderick L. Slater Sr. for twenty-three years, and together they have seven beautiful grown babies. She believes that their strength was saying "I do" to Jesus, and their weakness has been not knowing each other sooner. Her one word of encouragement to any nation of people is "Jesus," and she hopes to inspire others to come to know the fullness of God and trust that He will make all things revealed in His perfect timing.

Volume 46 of "Progress in Drug Research" contains seven reviews and the various indexes which facilitate its use and establish the connection with the previous volumes. The articles in this volume deal with endo- genous sodium pump inhibition, with neurotransmitters involved in the central regulation of the cardiovascular system, with leukotrienes and development of novel anti-inflammatory agents, with antithrombotic stra- tegies and drugs affecting the plasma fibrinogen levels, with natural ami- noglycosides and polyamines and their effects in the mammalian orga- nism, with the latest developments in antidepressant agents and with immunopharmacological and biochemical bases of Chinese herbal medi- cine. These reviews provide valuable information on several new deve- lopments in the complex domain of drug research. In the 37 years that PDR has existed, the Editor has enjoyed the valua- ble help and advice of many colleagues. Readers, the authors of the reviews and, last but not least, the reviewers have all contributed greatly to the success of this series of monographs. Although the comments received so far have generally been favorable, it is nevertheless necessary to analyze and to reassess the current position and the future direction of such publi- cations.

James B. Conant (1893-1978) was one of the giants of the American establishment in the twentieth century. President of Harvard University from 1933 to 1953, he was also a scientist who led the US government's effort to develop weapons of mass destruction, and his story mirrors the transition of the United States from isolationism to global superpower at the dawn of the nuclear age. 'This splendid portrait of Conant ...illuminates the life of a pivotal figure in the making of US nuclear, scientific, educational, and foreign policy for almost half a century. But the book is much more: it is not only an insightful narration of Conant's life, it is also a brilliant and important account of the making of the nuclear age, a chronicle that contains much that is new.' TheWashington Post 'The bomb would be as much Conant's as it was anyone's in government. His inner response to that burden of responsibility has long been obscured, but it is illumined here ...This is a model of historiography that is evocative reading.' The New York Times Book Review 'Vibrantly written and compelling, it breaches Conant's shield of public discretion in masterly fashion ...It is a huge, ambitious work - a history of the Cold War as Conant encountered it as well as a study of the man.' The New Yorker 'Magnificent ...Any reader interested in nuclear weapons, Cold War history, or American politics from FDR to JFK will find this biography riveting.'
