I guess more words have been written about my first wife, my beloved Norma Jeane Baker, than perhaps have been written about a great many other people who have become famous.Even after she became Marilyn Monroe, and long after her death, the words keep coming and coming. They'll never stop.Sometimes the words liken Norma Jeane to a caterpillar becoming a beautiful and fragile butterfly, but that's not true. Norma Jeane was always a butterfly. She was beautiful all of her life, within and without. During our courtship and marriage I never stopped loving to be with her, to stare at her, to laugh with and love her. We had a wonderful, joyful marriage. But in the end, it was not enough for Norma Jeane. Like all beautiful butterflies, she had to fly away. The difference between the millions of other words written and the ones within this book is simple; mine are not conjecture. Mine are not research. My words are true because I was there.I had the honor and privilege to have lived the experience. The words in this book are all true, because Norma Jeane Baker was my wife.

Nothing has captured the imagination and conjecture of the people more than that of the Apocalypse, as this is found in all the holy books of the world. The Christians are awaiting the advent of the Antichrist and the Beast which is to precede the return of Jesus Christ and Armageddon. Here, for the first time, Dr. Leland Jensen brings to life the amazing visions of Jeane Dixon, adding an entire New Dimension to this subject and revealing the fulfillment Jeane's most outstanding vision: "THE CHILD OF THE EAST." In A Gift of Prophecy it states: "Visions which come to Mrs. Dixon are unchangeable, because they represent the will of God. The coming event cannot, consequently, be prevented" (p. 155). Therefore, the reading public is waiting for the fulfillment of these visions. In this book, for the first time, "THE CHILD OF THE EAST" has been definitely identified. Jeane states that: "The world as we know it will be reshaped and revamped into one without wars or suffering... he will bring together all mankind in one all-embracing faith. This will be the foundation of a new Christianity, with every sect and creed united through this man who will walk among the people to spread the wisdom of the Almighty Power" (A Gift of Prophecy, pp. 171, 172). This book represents not only his amazing credentials, but gives his interpretations of some of Jeane's other visions such as the Snake and her two visions that she had in St. Matthew's Cathedral. Also by using Jeane Dixon's Criteria, he definitely identifies the Antichrist and slays him with the sword of his mouth. He also exposes the Beast and Dragon prophesied to come in the Book of Revelation. This is all backed up by the most realistic and accurate proofs. The Bible and the Great Pyramid come alive and become clear as crystal. This will excite the reader to new horizons, especially what "THE CHILD OF THE EAST." has to say of what is to take place next He will become the most talked about person in the world and what he has to say will be of the most discussed subjects. It will be a common conversational piece. Everyone will get in on the act; no one will be able to remain neutral. Everyone will take sides, either for or against. As the events that "THE CHILD OF THE EAST" has predicted take place just exactly as he stated, ultimately everyone in the world will become a believer; there will be mass conversion."Attempting to describe her own sensation, Jeane says: "I felt suspended and enfolded, as if I were surrounded by whipped cream. For the first time I understood the full meaning of the Biblical phrase, 'My cup runneth over.' I loved all mankind. I felt that I would never again need food or sleep, because I had experienced perfect peace" (A Gift of Prophecy, p. 172).It will be just like Jeane said. Read this book and find out for yourself.

Her unforgettable image is seared into the minds of fans everywhere, and her private life continues to inspire headlines and controversy, but Marilyn Monroe is one of the most famous—and misunderstood—women in the world who remains a mystery to most people. On Marilyn cuts through the rumors and myths to present the real person behind the queen of movies and pop culture. From her chaotic childhood in Depression-era Los Angeles to her rise in the world of Hollywood and finally her untimely death—On Marilyn explores the legendary star’s family history, connection to the movies from childhood, her personal life as an adult, and her interest in continually educating herself. On Marilyn is compulsively readable—instead of chronological dates and dry accounts of events, there are chapters about specific aspects of her life and career. What did Marilyn like to eat? What types of books did she read? Was she really plus size? Did she nearly bring down a political empire? And how did she actually die? This book explores everything—and vividly brings to light the truth about the world’s greatest movie star.
Doctoral Education in Social Work

Doctoral Education in Social Work

Doctoral education in social work is said to be in crisis. While there is a glut of available programs, there is a shortage of doctoral graduates for faculty positions in social work education requiring that the field prepare more high-quality graduates for these positions. There is also an increasing need for doctoral-level social workers in leadership roles outside of schools of social work, such as in think tanks, professional associations, public and organizational administration, and practice. Based on findings from a national survey of doctoral students in social work, this volume discusses the purpose of doctoral education in a practice profession, as well as past and current controversies about what that should be. Survey findings about student demographics and their reasons for seeking the doctoral degree are discussed in comparison to national data from related fields. In addition, their program experiences are considered and parsed, including specifics on what they like and do not like, such as the dissertation research and writing experience and preparation for the PhD job market. While most programs are designed to prepare stewards of the discipline, it turns out that the resources available in social work doctoral programs, including student aid, are quite variable. The book identifies a variety of recommendations that can enhance the profession's ability to prepare the next generation of intellectual leadership. This is essential reading for anyone interested in or already working towards a social work doctorate, and for faculty and directors of schools of social work determined to understand and shape the future of doctoral education in social work.

Drawing from her extensive classroom and field experience, Jeane W. Anastas merges the "practice wisdom" of today's social work educators with contemporary theories on instruction and learning. Built around a teacher- and student-in-situation framework, Teaching in Social Work examines the effect of social issues, professional norms and needs, and various educational settings on the interactions among educators, students, and the subjects they learn. The result is a singular volume that focuses specifically on teaching within the field of social work, identifying the factors that result in effective educational outcomes. Anastas draws on the theories and selected research findings of higher education and social work education literature. She illuminates the critical aspects of teaching and learning as an adult, the best uses of different modalities of instruction, and the issues of diversity that influence all aspects of teaching and learning. Her book includes guest-authored chapters on field learning and the latest advances in teaching technology. It also engages with ethics, teaching and learning assessments, and faculty work in full-time social work education.

Research Design for Social Work and the Human Services

Research Design for Social Work and the Human Services integrates a range of research techniques into a single epistemological framework and presents a balanced approach to the teaching of research methods in the "helping professions." Jeane W. Anastas begins with a discussion of the different philosophical perspectives within which social research occurs and continues with problem formulation, research design, and methodological issues influencing data collection, analysis, and dissemination. She presents both fixed (quantitative) and flexible (qualitative) methods of research, granting legitimacy, value, utility, and relevance to both styles of inquiry. Utilizing complete case studies to illustrate different methodological approaches, Research Design for Social Work and the Human Services integrates material on women and people of color, and draws attention to the ways racism, heterosexism, sexism, and classism affect the conceptualization and conduct of research. Anastas not only exposes these biases but actively addresses the experiences, needs, and concerns of clients of both genders and different races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, cultures, and classes.
