When the history and character of her Shakespeare-obsessed hometown is threatened, a powerhouse lawyer goes toe to toe with a commercial developer in a hilarious rom-com from the author of For the Love of the Bard. Portia Barnes is the youngest managing partner in her law firm's history, and she and her stilettos are poised to step into the role of her dreams--leading the firm's new Boston office. But first she's taking a summer sabbatical in her hometown of Bard's Rest, New Hampshire, where she discovers something's rotten in the midst of the town's annual Shakespeare festival. Hotshot commercial developer Benjamin Dane is sniffing around Bard's, and while Portia isn't necessarily a Shakespeare fanatic like the rest of her family, she's not about to let him bulldoze the town's beloved outdoor theater. Yet to Portia's dismay, Ben proves as skilled as she is when it comes to outworking, outmaneuvering, and one-upping the competition. While she's never hesitated to wage war against hyper-successful alpha males, Portia is caught off guard by Ben's openness and lack of arrogance. As her own long-constructed walls start to come down, Portia begins to wonder if he might be more than an archnemesis. With her heart on the line and the future of the town hanging in the balance, Portia faces an impossible decision--Ben or Bard's?--unless she finds a way to broker the merger of her life, and ensures the curtain falls on a happy ending for everyone.

Alana, on the other hand, has spent the last three years of high school haunting the halls like a ghost. When she agrees to go away for the weekend with Josh's family, all she wants to do is make the perfect impression. Afterall, a boy like Josh could only come from the perfect family. But when they arrive at his grandmother's cabin, Alana finds Josh's family isn't anything like she expected. Wild and boisterous, Alana fears her shy ways will never fit in with a family like his. When her nerves cause her body to betray her with gastrointestinal problems of epic proportions, Alana is sure she is doomed to mortification and her relationship with Josh will be over. That is, until two unlikely allies - an old woman and a little boy in a tutu - cause Alana to examine the beauty of being yourself, no matter what people say. Will Alana cling to her shell and stay the quiet shadow she has always been, or will she finally be able to embrace who she is and learn to dance to the music only she can hear?

At what point does the use of technology in dance performance go beyond use for effect? Using the work of Athena Mazarakis this book examines the considered use of both new media and interactive media within the context of South African contemporary dance. Drawing on the history of digital technology use in theatre; particular attention is paid to the manner in which technological aspects such as projection, projection surface and various kinds of interactive technologies are employed. This book addresses the way the various and respective technological and choreographic forms are used in order to achieve a state of cohesion between them, within the performance as a whole so that one is not overshadowed by the other. The collaborative process is also discussed; specifically collaboration between the choreographer and the technological artist as well as collaboration between the two mediums, namely the choreographic and the technological. This book provides an insight into the intricacies and challenges that both choreographers and performers may face when trying to integrate new media and interactive media technology into their work.
