He is the author of Rogue River Journal. A former Wallace Stegner Fellow at Stanford University and James Thurber Writer-in-Residence at Ohio State University--and a former logger, hod carrier, railroader, and rock climbing instructor--Daniel lives in the Coast Range foothills west of Eugene, Oregon.
