Mermaids had a special meaning for John Hugh Roberts as he tells mythical story of beening rescued as a baby not even a month old in a terrible storm at Land's End Cornwall. In the story he tells is the son of the Captain of the ship saved him adopted him. The Captain's grandmother took him under her wing and taught him the Druid ceremonies. She did this with two friends, Mary Mortimer De St John (France - Brittany), Mary Temanmaur Young (Cornwall) and Mary Morvrin Evans ( Wales) . There second names had reference to the sea and thus they were known as the "Three Mermaids". Once a year they visited a famous Stone Circle and a certain cave and relics. One was on the seashore and John Hugh Roberts had a chief part to play. John Hugh Roberts discovered the 'Stone Book' with the Mermaids help. The story has a thread of truth as he was trained by his grandmother and her two friends who has names that meant "sea" in the old druid ways.
