Knowledge has become increasingly complex and important for organizations. Despite the growing recognition of the factors that enable knowledge management in organizations, our understanding about the unique cross-cultural challenges is rather limited. In particular, how cultural differences influence people’s participation in knowledge management activities still remains unclear.By conducting qualitative case studies and analytic hierarchical process (AHP) with multinational firms in Brazil and China, this book addresses the broader issue of cultural influences on knowledge management. Specific emphasis has been put on their indigenous cultural norms, including guanxi, face and jeitinho and the impacts they have on knowledge sharing. Drawing on an integrative knowledge management model, the results from AHP analysis reveal how some cultural-specific factors related to people, process and knowledge can affect the effectiveness of socialization, externalization and internalization processes in a production context.The book will be useful to both management academics and business practitioners. While academics will gain insight into the intricacies of knowledge sharing activities in production organizations, managers will find some useful conceptual tools to resolve the challenges of knowledge management in a cross-cultural context.

In the agricultural context of the municipality of Mor n there are several local enterprises that constitute innovations that typify the locality, however, the articulation of the agents of change in the agricultural context is insufficient, there is a lack of perception among the actors about local development and the awareness of the actors about the need to form innovative capacities in producers, academics, scientists and decision makers to continue at a more strengthened level is deficient, which is why the scientific problem of how to contribute to Food Sovereignty in the municipality of Mor n was determined, The objective was to design a multi-stakeholder action plan based on the strengthening of the principles of SIAL to contribute to Food Sovereignty in the municipality of Mor n. The application of various instruments and consultation with experts made it possible to identify the strengths, weaknesses, threats, and opportunities of the agricultural and innovation context, leading to the construction of their respective SWOT matrices, which show their influence on the innovation systems. A multi-stakeholder action plan was then drawn up.

Dans le contexte agricole de la municipalit de Mor n, il existe diverses entreprises locales qui constituent des innovations typiques de la localit , mais l'articulation des agents de changement dans le contexte agricole est insuffisante, il y a un manque de perception parmi les acteurs du d veloppement local et la prise de conscience des acteurs de la n cessit de former des capacit s d'innovation chez les producteurs, les universitaires, les scientifiques et les d cideurs pour continuer un niveau plus renforc est d ficiente, c'est pourquoi le probl me scientifique de la fa on de contribuer la souverainet alimentaire dans la municipalit de Mor n a t d termin , L'objectif tait de concevoir un plan d'action multi-acteurs bas sur le renforcement des principes du SIAL pour contribuer la souverainet alimentaire dans la municipalit de Mor n. L'application de divers instruments et la consultation d'experts ont permis d'identifier les forces, les faiblesses, les menaces et les opportunit s du contexte agricole et de l'innovation, ce qui a conduit la construction de leurs matrices SWOT respectives, qui montrent leur influence sur les syst mes d'innovation. Making an important contribution to studies in Literature and Philosophy, this book reads Jorge Luis Borges philosophically, particularly in reference to his use of representation and reality. Rather than attempting to subordinate Borges to a set of philosophical constructs, to reduce Borges’ texts to mere exemplifications or illustrations of philosophical theories, the book uses Borges’s short stories to demonstrate how philosophical questions related to representation develop out of literature and actually serve as precursors to the various strains of post-analytic philosophy that later developed in the United States. The volume discusses American post-analytic philosophers Richard Rorty, Hilary Putnam, Donald Davidson, Nelson Goodman, and Arthur Danto, as well as a wide-ranging set of philosophical ideas including reflections on Keynes, Hayek, Schopenhauer and many others . Chapters offer detailed readings of Borges’ texts extending from 1939 to 1983, locating where he thematizes issues of representation, and pursuing the logic of Borges’s text toward its philosophical implications without neglecting their literary value. The book argues that Borges’ exploration of the relationship between representation and reality places him unmistakably in the position of a precursor to the post-analytic philosophers.
