Zu dieser Zeit wurde die Soziale Arbeit noch nicht professionalisiert durchgef hrt. Sie entspringt dem christlichen Glauben, wurde aus rein gemeinn tzigen Gr nden angewandt und bestand aus freiwilligen Helfert tigkeiten. Im Laufe der vergangenen Jahrhunderte entwickelte sich die Soziale Arbeit zu einem beruflichen T tigkeitsfeld mit zahlreichen Mitarbeitern und gro en Organisationen (vgl. Schilling, "Soziale Arbeit, Geschichte, Theorie und Profession," 2005, S. 263f). Noch lange bevor diese Art der Professionalisierung sich durchsetzen konnte versuchte ein Schweizer auf vielf ltige Weise den benachteiligten und am Rande der Gesellschaft stehenden Menschen zu helfen: Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi. Ohne gezielt das Wort "Soziale Arbeit" oder auch "Sozialp dagogik" verwendet zu haben, z hlt Pestalozzi bis heute zu den wesentlichen Begr ndern der Sozialp dagogik und hat dadurch auch seinen Platz in den Theorien der Sozialen Arbeit gefunden. (vgl. Engelke, "Theorien der Sozialen Arbeit," 2009, S. 99f) Pestalozzi war Zeit seines Lebens eine umstrittene Person, dessen Ideen h ufig als "Spinnerein" oder "einfach nicht umsetzbar" abgetan wurden. Trotzdem fand Pestalozzi schon damals zahlreiche Anh nger die seinen Ideen und Theorien folgten. Heute gilt Pestalozzi als wichtiger Bestandteil der Sozialen Arbeit, der aber nach gewissen Zeitabst nden immer wieder kontrovers diskutiert wird. In Pestalozzis Ideen und Theorien lassen sich ganz aktuelle Themen und Missst nde erkennen die noch bis in unsere Moderne Zeit zu beobachten sind. (Vgl. Bereits in unserer Kindheit verbinden wir diesen Satz mit der Paarbeziehung zwischen Mann und Frau. "Das Kind schaut dem gl cklichen, frisch verheirateten Paar ins Gesicht. Mann und Frau strahlen ber beide Wangen". Der Mythos des gl cklichen Ehepaares besteht bis in unsere heutige Zeit und wird durch B cher, Medien und Internet in unsere Gesellschaft getragen. Doch wie verh lt es sich mit dem M rchenprinzen und der Traumprinzessin, wenn die Musik der Hochzeit verhallt ist? Wie geht die Beziehung weiter, wenn es hei t "...Ende gut, alles gut"? Trotz des Klischees, und dem Wunsch nach einer langj hrigen, ausf llenden Beziehung, leidet die moderne Zweierbeziehung und die Institution Ehe unter offensichtlichen Erschwernissen und Hindernissen. Neben unz hligen Ratgebern in Form von B chern hat sich in den letzten Jahren ein breit gef cherter Markt f r Beziehungs- und Eheprobleme entwickelt. Von Paartherapien bis hin zu Eheberatungen ist die Zahl der Ver ffentlichungen und Behandlungsm glichkeiten gestiegen (vgl. Nave-Herz, 2004, S. 9). Die wissenschaftliche Erforschung mit dem Thema der Zweierbeziehung und der Ehe stellte bis vor einiger Zeit den Randbereich der Familiensoziologie dar. In den letzten Jahren konnte jedoch eine Zunahme der Forschung auf diesem Gebiet beobachtet werden. Grund hierf r bilden die ver nderte Einstellung zu Zweierbeziehungen und Ehe, sowie die Trennung der Institution Familie und der Institution Ehe. Befasste man sich bis vor einiger Zeit nur mit der Familie (bzw. mit der Beziehung zwischen Eltern und Kind), r ckt nun auch die Beziehung zwischen den Partnern in den Vordergrund des Interesses.
