Jyrki Pellinen (s. 1940) on suomalaisen modernistirunouden eräitä kivijalkoja, omalaatuinen genius-persoona, joka kirjoittamisen lisäksimaalaa ja soittaa pianoa. Taide on ollut mukana Pellisen elämässä lapsuudesta lähtien. Hän on venäläisen kirjallisuuden rakastaja, joka elää ja tuntee ihmiset sanoiksi asti. Tässä muotokuvassa Pellisen persoona näyttäytyy hänelle läheisten ihmisten, taiteen ja kirjallisuuden sekä nuorempien kirjailijoiden kautta.
Näin syntyi ja kuoli Suomen suurin nuoriso-ohjelma.Vuonna 1995 Jyrki tuli meille. Hurjaa menoa ja ennennäkemätöntä tv-ilmaisua sisältäneen ohjelman vuosiin mahtuu niin villejä tarinoita kuin ammatillisia innovaatioita.Kun Jyrki alkoi, siitä tuli sukupolvikokemus ja oman aikansa valtava mediailmiö. Ohjelma nosti suomalaista musiikkia kansainväliselle tasolle ja teki kokemattomista juontajistaan tähtiä.Jyrkin kulisseissa tekijöitä kohdeltiin välillä todella rajusti, mutta vuosiin mahtuu myös riemukkaita kokemuksia ja koskettavia hetkiä.Kirjassa oman versionsa Jyrkistä kertovat tekijät Katja Ståhlista Pizza Pekkariseen ja Micaela Metsoon. Ääneen pääsevät myös Jyrkissä vakituisesti esiintyneet muusikot, kuten Toni Wirtanen, Kerkko Koskinen ja Kalle Ahola.Juuso Määttänen on Helsingin Sanomien kulttuuritoimittaja. Joonas Hytönen oli Jyrkin tunnetuimpia juontajia. Nykyään hän toimii yhden Suomen suurimman tv-tuotantoyhtiön, Fremantlen toimitusjohtajana.
Jyrki Kasvin omaelämäkerta kuvaa hänen monivaiheisesta uraansa yhteiskunnan erilaisilla pelipaikoilla. Loppuvuodesta 2021 syöpään menehtyneen Kasvin tarinaa kuvaavan kirjan teemaksi nousee ihmisten hyvyys. Jyrki Kasvin omaelämäkerta kertoo hänen kolmesta elämästään pelijournalistina, tutkijana ja poliitikkona. Se kertoo arjesta syövän kanssa, luopumisesta, elämänilosta, hyvästä hoidosta ja burleskista. Se kertoo ihmisten hyvyydestä, jonka ansiosta hän ehti kirjoittaa tämän kirjan. Jyrki Kasvi oli pikkuvanha lukutoukka, jonka ainekirjoitukset vilisivät ufoja ja liikuntatunnit poissaolomerkintöjä. Lukion jälkeen työskentely Suomen ensimmäisessä kotitietokonelehdessä kehitti kirjoitustaitoja, ja opinnot korkeakoulussa lähtivät sujumaan, kun Jyrki löysi työpsykologian. Korkeakoulun jälkeen kävi kutsu EU:n asiantuntijatehtäviin. Akateeminen ura keskeytyi, kun ovet avautuivat eduskuntaan. Digitalisaatio ei ollut poliitikkoja aiemmin kiinnostanut, mutta Uudellamaalla äänestäjät näkivät, että tietoyhteiskunnassa tarvitaan uutta lainsäädäntöä ja uusia poliitikoita. Sitten Jyrkin virtsassa oli verta. Rakkosyöpä oli osa Jyrkin elämää 19 vuoden ajan. Sisäelimiä poistettiin syövän edetessä. Saattohoitolähetteen saaminenkaan ei lannistanut, sillä apua etsittiin uusista kokeellisista hoidoista, joilla saatu lisäaika käytettiin tämän kirjan kirjoittamiseen. Jyrkillä oli varaa syöpäsairaalan kokeellisiin hoitoihin, koska ihmiset auttoivat häntä eri tavoin. TkT Jyrki J.J. Kasvi (1964-2021) oli suomalainen kansanedustaja, tutkija ja pelijournalisti. Hän julkaisi useita tietotekniikkaa ja tietoyhteiskuntaa käsitteleviä kirjoja sekä novellikokoelman Posliinikissa - ja muita fantastisia tarinoita (2021).
Parikymppisenä nuorukaisena 1970-luvulla Jyrki Niskanen oli suomalaisten tanssipaikkojen vakiomuusikkoja. Niskanen kiersi keikoilla Suomea eri kokoonpanoissa, joissa hän säesti vuosien mittaan kymmeniä artisteja. Mielenkiinto vei kuitenkin kohti vakavampaa musiikkia ja musiikkiopintoihin Sibelius-Akatemiaan. Upean tenoriäänensä ja vahvan muusikkoutensa ansiosta Jyrki Niskanen löysi tiensä oopperamaailmaan, myös ulkomailla. Häntä arvostettiin erityisesti Richard Wagnerin oopperoiden tenoriroolien tulkitsijana. Kysyntää oli moneksi vuodeksi eteenpäin, kaikki portit olivat auki. Loistavasti edennyt ura päättyi äkillisesti sairastumiseen. Alkoi pitkä hiljaisuus. Palo laulamiseen ja musiikin tekemiseen ei kuitenkaan ollut sammunut. Musiikki kantoi eteenpäin, alkoi uudenlainen tekeminen, uusi tapa elää. Jyrki Niskanen jatkaa kotipaikkakunnallaan Kirkkonummella työtä monipuolisena musiikin ammattilaisena. Konserttiesiintymisten ohella hän toimii laulunopettajana ja kahden kuoron johtajana.Muusikkoelämäkerran kirjoittaja Eija Antinoja on haastatellut kirjaa varten Jyrki Niskasen lisäksi useita muita henkilöitä ja hyödyntänyt runsasta lehti- ja kuva-aineistoa.
