Along the coast of Gujarat, nineteenth-century merchant houses or havelis still stand in historic cities, connecting ports from Durban to Rangoon. In this ambitious and multifaceted work, Ketaki Pant uses these old spaces as a lens through which to view not only the vibrant stories of their occupants, but also the complex entanglements of Indian Ocean capitalism. These homes reveal new perspectives from colonized communities who were also major merchants, signifying ideas of family, race, gender, and religion, as well as representing ties to land. Employing concepts from feminist studies, colonial studies, and history, Pant argues that havelis provide a model for understanding colonial capitalism in the Indian Ocean as a spatial project. This is a rich exploration of both belonging and unbelonging and the ways they continue to shape individual and social identities today.

This story revolves around a mischievous and pampered pet dog named Donut, his hooman best friends and an old grumpy lady who stays downstairs in the same residential building. The story is set in a typical Maharashtrian household, which is why Donut understands the Marathi language. Donut is a mongrel, who is named after his tail which appears like a Donut when curled up. So no one, not even his owner is aware about his roots, or which mixed breed he belongs to. Donut is lazy, he is rude with strangers and he is untrained. But does that really matter? What really matters is the bond he shares with his family and the real instinct of a dog that puts him to test and makes all the difference in the real world. These short stories about Donut will make you laugh and keep you hitched till the end as the story explains how the quirky, naughty dog unexpectedly wins the 'Dog of the year' title

Drug-induced gingival overgrowth or enlargement manifests as abnormal growth of the gingiva due to an adverse drug reactions in patients treated with anticonvulsants, immunosuppressants, and calcium channel blockers. As gingival enlargement develops, it affects the normal oral hygiene practice and may interfere with masticatory functions. It gradually becomes a source of pain and the condition often leads to disfiguration. Within the group of patients that develop this unwanted effect, there appears to be variability in the extent and severity of the gingival changes. It would seem pertinent to identify and explore possible risk factors and relating them with the treatment plan. This book throws light on respective drugs and their association with gingiva, various mechanisms by which they cause enlargement and its treatment.
