"The anthology Critical Issues in Education: A Reader analyzes major issues in education within the conceptual framework of educational reform. Dr. Cunningham has written on topics ranging from vocational choices among community college construction education students to barriers that hinder female high school students from entering nontraditional programs. She has received grants from the Pennsylvania Department of Education and Georgia Professional Standards Commission."

We've been misinformed For many years, I thought perhaps that I had a willpower problem. But I've discovered the real reason I was overweight and unhealthy was because I had been misinformed. I had been making good attempts to eat the right foods, but I was following the wrong list. I learned that some of the foods on my "healthy" list were foods that aren't really good for our bodies, especially in this day and age when we live more sedentary lives than our ancestors did. Some of the things I thought were "healthy" were slowly damaging my body and sapping all of my energy as a result. Some "healthy" foods were slowly damaging the lining of my stomach and sabotaging my immune system. Some foods such as sugar are addictive and cause cravings that are difficult to ignore and even cause withdrawal symptoms when you don't eat them. All of this made eating right almost impossible. You've probably been experiencing the same thing.
