Patches is Dr. Kotina W. Hall s first children s book and one of her most prized accomplishments. Dr. Hall is the President and Founder of Partnership Success, Incorporated. She is most noted for her civic outreach and dedication to enriching the lives of children. Dr. Hall has received a number of leadership and academic honors and currently serves as a professor at Belhaven University. Hall conducts higher education and professional development workshops throughout the southeast. She is also a featured speaker. Dr. Hall lives in Atlanta, Georgia, with her husband Jeffrey and is the mother to two bonus sons - Justin and Jordan - and daughter, Jekoti-Blake. Hall dedicates her book to her winsome daughter, Jekoti-Blake (J-Blake), who is also her source for the creation and life of the character, Patches. Patches is the first children's book illustrated by NorViance Henry. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Henry has had a lifelong love for comics, games and pop culture alike. He began drawing as a child gaining talent inherited from his father. He is the co-founder of the new media imprint UrbanGod Ink and has worked on some of the imprint's first comics, including his creation Jellybean Dream. He dedicates his work in Patches to the memory of his mother, Louisa Henry. Mr. Henry lives in Decatur, Georgia, with his family.

Various clinical manifestations are observed in humans with altered metabolim, which are also manifested in oral cavity. Many of the disorders are manifested mainly in the tongue causing various appearances such as macroglossia as seen in acromegaly, hypothyroidism, hyperpituitarism, mucopolysaccharidoses, abnormal melanin pigmentation as seen in Addison's disease, decreased two point discrimination as reported in a case of Cushings syndrome, sore tongue and changes in taste perception are reported in diabetes mellitus.In some other metabolic disturbances, only a part of the tongue is affected, such as enlargement of fungiform papillae as seen in vitamin B1 deficiency or a part of tongue is involved first later involving entire tongue such as in vitamin B2 deficiency. Entire tongue shows glossitic changes as seen in vitamin B6, vitamin B12 deficiency.These diseases are manifested in various forms systemically and also manifests intraorally. Some diseases are manifested only intraorally and Dentists may be the first person to recognize the underlying disorder. Oral Diagnosticians have the responsibility of treating to some extent and further referral for adequate management.

B. die Vergr erung der fungiformen Papillen bei Vitamin-B1-Mangel, oder ein Teil der Zunge ist zun chst betroffen, sp ter die gesamte Zunge, wie bei Vitamin-B2-Mangel. Die gesamte Zunge weist glossitische Ver nderungen auf, wie sie bei Vitamin-B6- und Vitamin-B12-Mangel auftreten.Diese Krankheiten treten in verschiedenen Formen systemisch auf und manifestieren sich auch intraoral. Einige Krankheiten treten nur intraoral auf, und Zahn rzte k nnen die erste Person sein, die die zugrunde liegende St rung erkennt. Oral-Diagnostiker haben die Aufgabe, diese Krankheiten bis zu einem gewissen Grad zu behandeln und sie f r ein angemessenes Management weiter zu berweisen.

Nell'uomo con alterazioni del metabolismo si osservano diverse manifestazioni cliniche che si manifestano anche nel cavo orale. Molti di questi disturbi si manifestano principalmente sulla lingua, provocando varie manifestazioni come macroglossia, come si osserva nell'acromegalia, nell'ipotiroidismo, nell'iperpituitarismo, nelle mucopolisaccaridosi, pigmentazione melaninica anomala, come si osserva nel morbo di Addison, diminuzione della discriminazione a due punti, come si osserva in un caso di sindrome di Cushings, lingua dolente e alterazioni della percezione del gusto, come si osserva nel diabete mellito.In alcuni altri disturbi metabolici, viene colpita solo una parte della lingua, come l'ingrossamento delle papille fungiformi osservato nella carenza di vitamina B1, oppure viene coinvolta prima una parte della lingua e poi l'intera lingua, come nella carenza di vitamina B2. L'intera lingua presenta alterazioni glossitiche come nel caso della carenza di vitamina B6 e di vitamina B12.Queste malattie si manifestano in varie forme a livello sistemico e anche intraorale. Alcune malattie si manifestano solo a livello intraorale e i dentisti possono essere i primi a riconoscere il disturbo sottostante. I diagnostici orali hanno la responsabilit di trattare in una certa misura e di indirizzare ulteriormente i pazienti per una gestione adeguata.

La langue enti re pr sente des modifications glossiques, comme dans le cas des carences en vitamine B6 et B12.Ces maladies se manifestent sous diverses formes syst miques et intra-orales. Certaines maladies ne se manifestent qu'au niveau intra-oral et les dentistes peuvent tre la premi re personne reconna tre le trouble sous-jacent. Les diagnosticiens bucco-dentaires ont la responsabilit de traiter dans une certaine mesure et d'orienter ensuite les patients vers une prise en charge ad quate.
