From the author of the National Jewish Book Award Finalist Bartali’s Bicycle comes the story of Katalin Karikó, the Nobel Prize-winning scientist whose research of mRNA led to the world-altering development of the Covid-19 vaccine. Perfect for readers who love science, STEM, and books like Dr. Fauci: How a Boy from Brooklyn Became America’s Doctor or Hidden Figures: The True Story of Four Black Women and the Space Race. When she was young, Katalin Karikó decided she would study science—even though she had never even met a scientist! Katalin had to learn English while attending university, but she worked hard until she became a doctor. After facing many challenges, including lack of research funding and harsh immigration policies, Kati and her family uprooted from Hungary and moved to America, where she became a top researcher. She knew that, with work, she could teach one of the building blocks of life, messenger RNA, to fight off harmful viruses. There was just one problem—no one else believed her. Then, the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and Kati and her work were thrust into the spotlight. But with her unshakable will, she was ready to face the challenge.Includes a note from Dr. Karikó, a time line, and more information about mRNA.

First, relationships have a lot of importance in life. If you get a relationship with the right people, then you are truly happy and want to live long. If something like this is not in your luck then your life becomes like hell. Secondly, if the relationship is one-sided, then it is the right decision to free that relationship and that uprooted person. All these things are mentioned in the "Kati Patang" poetry collection. All such poems introduce many aspects of life.

On the occasion of the centenary of the birth of photographer Kati Horna. The Museo Amparo in Puebla has organised an exhibition of her work scheduled to travel later to the the Museo Amparo In Jou de Paume in Paris and the Palau de la Viroina in Barcelona. The catalogue-book of the exhibition, published under a Joint imprint with Editorial RM. represents a recognition of Horna's photographic career and is the first adequate single-volume treatment of her work. The photographic oeuvre of Kati Horna (1912-2000) spans decades, geographical boundaries and visual practices. Horna witnessed the fall of the Austro-Hungarian Empire; the outbreak of World War I, which ousted her from Budapest--after which she moved to Berlin, then Paris; and the Spanish Civil War, after which World War II prompted her final move to Mexico, her adopted country. It was in Mexico that Horna found her artistic community, among the Surrealist ex-pats Leonora Carrington, Remedios Varo and Edward James. Even as a war photographer, she appropriated Surrealist photomontage, developing an original, intimate style of photojournalism. This superbly produced volume celebrates her extensive and diverse work, much of which has been previously unpublished or available only in limited circulation, and allows us to appreciate the incredible range of her oeuvre, from Surrealist to documentary photography. Featured alongside these photos are a chronology of Horna's life, essays by Peter Baki, Jean-Francois Chevrier, Estrella de Diego, Juan Manuel Bonet and Jos Antonio Rodriguez and a text by Horna's daughter, accompanied by documentary material from her personal archive.
