TEMPO is a collection of poetry about people, places and seasons where memory and longing unite in love and our dreams together in time. The pieces presented here are an invitation into a world of myriad landscapes and their unique songs of darkness, light, stillness and flow.*****These poems are music to our ears and words to our hearts. Inspired by the voice of the balladeer, Coppola shows us surprising vistas from which we feel the magnifying presence of nature. She leads us down secret lanes into the whispers of woods, and through seasons, where we find many of our own mysteries unfold and come to light.-Coral Clark, visual artist, make up artist and portraitistLucia Coppola's poetic (and sometimes prose) voice alternates the matter-of-fact with lyrical description. She beautifully balances the interplay between poetry and prose, and this form reflects her content, which weaves themes of the natural world, relationships, and daily human experience. Coppola is a dancer and her writing embodies that physical and kinesthetic sensibility.-Shoshana D. Kerewsky, author of Firebrand Book Award winner Cancer, Kintsugi, Camino, and 50 Days in May: Reflections Along the Camino de SantiagoLucia Coppola's poetry whimsically traverses terrains, guiding the reader to forge connections between personhood and nature. The celebration of life permeates her writing, rewarding both the mindful and the contemplative spirit.-D Jayne McPherson, author, Orphan At The Well

Following its foundation in 1957, the European Economic Community set about establishing itself as a major player on the world stage. One of the first key arenas in which the new organisation began to make its presence felt was the GATT negotiations that took place between 1963 and 1967, known as the Kennedy Round. Through a reconstruction of these on-going negotiations, this book charts the emergence of the EEC as a world trading power and the strategies it adopted that were to have a lasting effect upon European trade policies. As well as proving an important background to the Kennedy Round, the study explains how the EEC/European Union became a powerful actor in international trade, championing a liberal attitude toward the industrial sector but a protectionist one in agriculture. It also addresses the impact of the EEC/EU as regional trading area on the multilateral and global trading system and the EEC/EU trade policy-making. Through an historical analysis of these topics, a much fuller understanding of the actual role and stance of the EEC/EU in world trade is provided, one that not only illuminates events at the time, but provides essential background to the challenges still faced by the international trading system and the World Trade Organization. Based on a wealth of documentary research drawn from European and US archives, this book will be welcomed by all wishing to better understand the complex nature of international trade in an increasingly globalised market place.

Two young hearts brought together again. But will a town full of calf-eyed young men keep them apart? Lucia Cucinotta lived a sheltered life compared to most. She came to America from Italy and lived in New York City for a time, but the bulk of her years were spent on the Weaver farm, a full day's wagon ride from the nearest town. If she was lucky, she got to Nowhere three or four times a year. Imagine her surprise when she visits Clear Creek, Oregon, and discovers there's more to life than the family farm! A lot more. Max Cooke fell head over heels with Lucy when he and his family spent one magical Christmas on the Weaver farm. But that was over two and a half years ago, and even though he and Lucy wrote to each other, they weren't the same people now. It was only logical they'd have to get to know each other again. Problem was, they had only a little over a week to get reacquainted. Worse, Lucy was drawing the eye of every young gentleman in town! Downright disaster was the fact she was looking back! She'd never been around so many gentlemen her age before. What was Max to do? Find out in this sweet historical western romance, only Kit Morgan can deliver!

Favelas, or shantytowns, are where cocaine is mainly sold in Rio de Janeiro. There are some six hundred favelas in the city, and most of them are controlled by well-organized and heavily armed drug gangs. The struggle for the massive profits from this drug trade has resulted in what are increasingly violent and deadly confrontations between rival drug gangs and a corrupt and brutal police force, that have transformed parts of the city into a war-zone. Lucia tells the story of one woman who was once intimately involved with drug gang life in Rio throughout the 1990s. Through a series of conversations with the author, Lucia describes conditions of poverty, violence, and injustice that are simply unimaginable to outsiders. In doing so, she explains why women like her become involved with drugs and gangs, and why this situation is unlikely to change.
