50 Ways to Find a Lover is a hilarious, fun and unputdownable romantic comedy, from Lucy-Anne Holmes.I feel like a failure. It's now been 351 days since I had sex. That's a carnal drought. If Bob Geldof knew about it he'd hold a concert. Sarah Sargeant has been single for three years and nine months. She has just spent five months plucking up the courage to ask out a balding man with a paunch who works in her local pub. The gentleman in question informed her that he would rather stay in and watch the Narnia movie on DVD. Her pride has not just been bruised, it's been disembowelled. And she vows it's the last time she will ever reach out to a member of the opposite sex. But her family and friends have other ideas. They enter her into a reality TV show against her will, persuade her to go speed dating and even more radically, they encourage her to start a blog. Suddenly Sarah Sargeant is on a mission: a mission to explore 50 Ways To Find A Lover.

Music and the objects that created sound were found throughout Early Medieval society; they were a vital part of life at the time, from use in battle to entertainment and religious worship. Understanding these objects increases our understanding of Early Medieval life, including the soundscapes, daily life, and craftsmanship. Focusing on the archaeological evidence, this book assesses the available sources to form an understanding of horns and trumpets, bagpipes and hornpipes, bone pipes, panpipes and the organ. The author analyses the ways these instruments were constructed and how they looked. Novel re-creations and reconstructions of these instruments allow unique experiments into how far away the instruments may have been heard and increase our understanding of when and how the objects were used.
The central theme of the articles reproduced in these two volumes is the role of the visual arts and architecture in the cultural interaction between medieval societies, Christian and Muslim, in the eastern Mediterranean. Visual forms of production and communication amongst Christian communities themselves, and between Christian and Muslim, are discussed within their specific social and political contexts. Placing the emphasis on areas which passed between Christian and Muslim raises questions of the formation of identities as well as the relationship of the periphery to the centre. Focusing on the areas of Egypt, Syria and Palestine in relation to Byzantium, Islam, and the West provides a framework for consideration of particular issues, especially the identity of particular communities. The core of the work considers the period between the twelfth and fourteenth centuries, when these areas were at the centre of eastern Mediterranean politics, and seeks to interpret little known evidence in the light of political and cultural circumstances with an interdisciplinary approach as its starting point. Vol. I features papers on the legacy of Byzantine art, and the medieval Christian art of Egypt. Vol. II covers the Christian art of Medieval Syria, and the art of the Crusader states.

"Going Off On Tangents" was written in 21 days, which is a remarkably short time to write a book. Even more remarkable to write a book that covers every topic from mental health to Christmas, and from feminism to Turkish markets. This wide range of poetry brings to life the inner workings of the weird brain of author Lucy-Anne Murdoch, and provides poetry from a place of anger, sadness, hope, love, and reflection. There are poems written as bedtime tales, poems that discuss some of the great issues in our world today, and everything in between. Essentially, something for every person and every mood.

The age and stratigraphic division of the Wufeng Shale has buried an unresolved issue in the Chinese geological community for a long time since its birth. A paper "On the Wufeng Shale" was published in 1954 (Mu, 1954) with a reliable conclusion obtained that the Wufeng Formation belongs to the Upper Ordovician. There are too much insignificant species or subspecies and many wrong identification in the monograph “Upper Ordovician Graptolites of Central China Region? (Mu et al., 1993). It makes confusion of age duration of the Wufengian species. This is the one of reasons for the need to restudy the Wufengian graptolites. In the past two decades, two black shales, the Wufeng Formation (uppermost Ordovician) and the Lungmachi Formation (lower Silurian) in the Yangtze Region have become important shale gas production horizons. Among them, the division and precise comparison of graptolite biozones is an important basis for downhole determination and comparison of shale gas sweet spots. This requires the accuracy and recognized graptolite classification. This is the other one of most important reasons for restudying the Wufengian graptolites. Since 1990s of last century, a large number of Ordovician graptolites, including Wufengian graptolites have been collected for the research on the global boundary stratification of the Ordovician stages in South China. Recently some better preserved graptolite specimens, in particular a few three-dimensional graptolite specimens, have been obtained from Shuibatang section in Guizou. It provided a good opportunity for restudying the Wufengian graptolites. In this book, all the Wufengian graptolites in South China are restudied and revised, in order to clarify their morphological characteristics, systematic classification, temporal and spatial distribution, and evolutionary significance.
