Since the 1980s, the American M2/M3 Bradley has overcome its controversial debut, and is now regarded as among the finest cavalry/infantry fighting vehicles in the world. This book is a concise look at the background, development, and Army operational history of the Bradley from the 1980s to the present. The author, who brings a unique perspective and authority as a Bosnia veteran and former M1A1 tank gunner with the United States Army's 1/104th Cavalry, was granted behind-the-scenes access to the US Army's collection of rare vehicles at Ft. Benning, Georgia. He also includes the Bradley's service in lesser known places—not just Iraq and Afghanistan—such as Cold War Germany, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Korea, and Africa. The book is superbly illustrated with more than 200 color images. Part of the Legends of Warfare series.

Many of us struggle with the effects of abuse, rejection, shame, and guilt. You may have tried as I did to ease the pain with drugs, and/or alcohol. The problem with that is the damage gets so buried deep inside of you that you'll never heal until you face it. We become so used to being whatever or whomever everyone else wants us to be that we lose ourselves. I wrote this book to share my story of pain and powerlessness, sorrow, and shame. But I have a happy ending. I want you to have the same hope I have. I pray you will see yourself in my story and begin to face the truth in your own life. I hope you see that the only way to true freedom and being whole is through God. Let him give you the same hope. John 8:32 And you will know the truth and the truth will make you free.

STRADDLING THE LAWIn the not what he expected column, Brad Williams is shocked when LAPD Captain Eric Meyers shows an interest. Tempting...but, no. While Brad might be working at The Gates, and seems all law-abiding, in his former life he was a cat-burglar, and Eric knows it. There's no point in starting something that won't go anywhere, especially since Brad's sure all the captain's feeling is residual gratitude that Brad took a bullet for him. Yet, what they learn about each other becomes deeper and more meaningful than either of them expects.

When you hear the word "seasons," what comes to mind first? Seasons? Like the weather? I guess you could say that. In this case, the word seasons will imply the various changes you have experienced in life. Whether we know this or not, seasons have either helped or hurt to shape us into who we are today. Let us just look at what the word "seasons" means. Seasons help people understand the passage of time. Seasons also help teach people about change. Now in these seasons, are you questioning God? Do you feel alone in your crying-out season, or maybe you see no way out? "Seasons also help teach people about change." The question is, "What has changed you?" What did you experience during those seasons, and what was the outcome? There are many critical subtle differences related to each season. Keep in mind that just as humans change when the season/weather changes, so do everything else. Including plants and animals? Yes, even plants and animals. When the weather changes, plants and animals also change their behavior and adapt to the weather condition. Plants and animals do not stick to one season for their growth; they will adopt all seasons. This book will discuss many authors in their seasons, just like you. We have established and received the 4 pillars of these seasons: Grace, Favor, Overcoming, and Growth. Even though it may not seem like God is with you, He is always with you. He's with you even when you don't want Him to. He's with you in the valley that you may be facing right now. The testimonies you will experience in this book will help you along your way. It is not the end. Where you are is not your destination, and there is a purpose for you. We challenge you to read this book until the end because we have something for you. We have a dedication ready just for you, and we stand with you in this season.
Seattle Mystic Alfred M. Hubbard: Inventor, Bootlegger & Psychedelic Pioneer
"... a uniquely American character, a trickster who danced across the national stage for almost a half century." - Ken Dornstein, Emmy-winning producer and author. Seattle has a long tradition of being at the forefront of technological innovation. In 1919, an eager young inventor named Alfred M. Hubbard, made his first newspaper appearance with the announcement of a perpetual motion machine which harnessed energy from the Earth's atmosphere. From there, Hubbard transformed himself into a charlatan, bootlegger, radio pioneer, top secret spy, millionaire and uranium entrepreneur. In 1950, after discovering the transformative effects of a little-known hallucinogenic compound, Hubbard would go on to become the "Johnny Appleseed of LSD," introducing the psychedelic to many of the era's vanguards and an entire generation. Join author and historian Brad Holden as he chronicles the fascinating life of one of Seattle's legendary figures.

The Flora and Vegetation of Timber Island, Lake Winnipesaukee New Hampshire: A botanical and ecological analysis with queries into botanical habitat m
In 2003-2004 the flora and vegetation of Timber Island, the largest undeveloped island in Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire, was studied. Utilizing both a vegetation analysis and floristic survey the island was found to have 190 vascular plant species. Abundance and frequency data were recorded from 106 plots and examined using a two-way indicator species analysis program (TWINSPAN). The result was the identification of six cover types, and two additional cover types were recognized through qualitative field observation. The flora of Timber Island was further analyzed in relation to three other known island floras in Lake Winnipesaukee: Rattlesnake Island, Bear Island, and Three Mile Island. Two indices of similarity, S rensen's Index and the Simple Matching Index, were utilized to compare the floras. Similarities to Timber Island, based on S rensen's Index were 49.7% for Bear Island, 51.2% for Rattlesnake Island, and 51.8% for Three Mile Island. Results from the Simple Matching Index showed higher levels of similarity: Rattlesnake Island 58.3%, Bear Island 63.4%, and Three Mile Island 53.9%. In addition to the vascular flora, ground cover, soil type, and bryophophyte diversity were studied. Fifteen new records of bryophytes for Belknap County were recorded. Further discussed are the topics of turnover rates, rare plant preservation under pressure from elevated deer populations, and insularity of freshwater islands. This work brings up conservation questions and in a time of accelerated climate change this serves as a solid base-line floristic record of the environment of Timber Island, and the greater Lake Winnipesaukee region. Finally the reader is invited to query different methods of conversation and to consider freshwater lakes and their islands within, as perhaps more dynamic to the local ecology than may have otherwise been assumed. Full flora, photographs, and an extensive list insular botanical works are included.

Zion's growth through Reconstruction, Jim Crow, and the Civil Rights Movement, showing the denomination's special capacity for empowering lay people to be crucial to African American organization in the Civil Rights Movement. Throughout, Bradley explores the dynamics of organizational institutionalization in the midst of new growth and transformation through the Great Migration and the flowering of A. M. E. Zion churches in new African American communities on the West Coast.
