Este trabalho resultado de pesquisas realizadas na Universidade Federal da Fronteira Sul, situada na regi o sul do Brasil. A pretens o dos estudos realizados era de se alcan ar respostas sobre o modelo de institui o superior de ensino, implantado depois da luta dos movimentos sociais locais, que deveria possibilitar a inclus o de jovens das camadas sociais menos favorecidas. Como novo modelo de institui o superior de ensino possui matriz curricular diferenciada das demais universidades e, tamb m, cuidado com a forma de inclus o, perman ncia e realiza o dos cursos pelos seus egressos. A UFFS, diante das an lises realizadas pode ser considerada um novo modelo de universidade: "uma universidade popular".

Questo lavoro il risultato di una ricerca condotta presso l'Universit Federale della Frontiera Sud, situata nella regione meridionale del Brasile. L'obiettivo degli studi era quello di trovare risposte sul modello di istituzione di istruzione superiore, implementato dopo la lotta dei movimenti sociali locali, che dovrebbe consentire l'inclusione dei giovani provenienti dagli strati sociali meno favoriti. In quanto nuovo modello di istituto di istruzione superiore, ha una matrice curricolare diversa da quella delle altre universit e si preoccupa di garantire che i suoi laureati siano inclusi, rimangano e completino i loro corsi. Alla luce delle analisi effettuate, l'UFFS pu essere considerata un nuovo modello di universit "un'universit popolare".

This work is the result of research carried out at the Federal University of the Southern Frontier, located in the southern region of Brazil. The aim of the studies was to find answers about the model of higher education institution, implemented after the struggle of local social movements, which should enable the inclusion of young people from less favoured social strata. As a new model of higher education institution, it has a curricular matrix that differs from that of other universities, and it also takes care to ensure that its graduates are included, remain there and complete their courses. In the light of the analyses carried out, the UFFS can be considered a new university model: "a popular university".

Case Studies of Successful Technology Transfer from Federal Laboratories presents a case study protocol and analyses of nine technology transfer success stories across federal agencies and their research laboratories to begin to fill a gap in the existing literature where there is less available research on the impact and the mechanisms of technology transfer from federal labs. The goal is to present a methodology for doing case studies of technology transfer from federal laboratories and showcase a group of case studies done using that methodology. In addition to providing rich insights into different technology transfer processes, analysis across case studies with the same methodology allows one to begin to draw conclusions about similarities and differences in the mechanisms and conditions leading to successful technology transfer from national laboratories.

This manual is intended to assist federal attorneys in the preparation and litigation of cases involving the civil provisions of the Racketeer Influenced & Corrupt Organization Act, 18 U.S.C. 1961-1968. Federal attorneys are encouraged to contact the Organized Crime and Racketeering Section of the United States Department of Justice ("OCRS") early in the preparation of their case for advice and assistance. All Government civil RICO complaints, RICO Civil Investigative Demands and all proposed settlements of Government civil RICO suits must be submitted, with a supporting prosecution memorandum, to OCRS for review and approval before being issued or filed with the court. The submission should be approved by the Government attorney's office before being submitted to OCRS. Due to the volume of submissions received by OCRS, Government attorneys should submit the proposal three weeks prior to the date final approval is needed.

This manual is intended to assist federal prosecutors in the preparation and litigation of cases involving the Violent Crimes in Aid of Racketeering Statute, 18 U.S.C. 1959. Prosecutors are encouraged to contact the Organized Crime and Racketeering Section (OCRS) early in the preparation of their case for advice and assistance. All pleadings alleging a violation of 18 U.S.C. 1959 including any indictment, information, or criminal complaint, and a prosecution memorandum must be submitted to OCRS for review and approval before being filed with the court. The submission should be approved by the prosecutor's office before being submitted to OCRS. Due to the volume of submissions received by OCRS, prosecutors should submit the proposal three weeks prior to the date final approval is needed. Prosecutors should contact OCRS regarding the status of the proposed submission before finally scheduling arrests or other time-sensitive actions relating to the submission. Moreover, prosecutors should refrain from finalizing any guilty plea agreement containing a Section 1959 charge until final approval has been obtained from OCRS. The policies and procedures set forth in this manual and elsewhere relating to 18 U.S.C. 1959 are internal Department of Justice policies and guidance only. They are not intended to, do not, and may not be relied upon to, create any right, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law by any party in any matter civil or criminal. Nor are any limitations hereby placed on otherwise lawful litigative prerogatives of the Department of Justice.
