Hoffmann: Erz hlungen, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Sandmann, lieber Sandmann, / es ist noch nicht soweit / Wir sehen erst den Abendgru , / ehe jedes Kind ins Bettchen muss, / du hast gewiss noch Zeit./ Kinder, liebe Kinder, / es hat mir Spa gemacht / Nun schnell ins Bett und schlaft recht sch n, / dann will auch ich zur Ruhe gehn, / ich w nsch' euch Gute Nacht. Als "Der Sandmann" von E.T.A. Hoffmann 1817 erschien war sich keiner der Bedeutung bewusst, die dieses Buch in sich tr gt. Richtig analysieren konnte man es erst nachdem psychoanalytische Sichtweisen literarisch angesehen wurden. Die Urszene wurde zuerst gar nicht als solche erkannt, und man mag sich auch heute noch davor verschlie en, doch baut der Rest des Romans auf eben dieser unheimlichen Szene auf. Sie rational zu betrachten w rde deshalb bedeuten das Genie des Autors zu verleumden. Als Freud sein Essay "Das Unheimliche" 1919 ver ffentlichte konzentrierte er sich vor allem auf das Irrationale, das Unheimliche der Geschichte. Dabei konnte er die Urszene nat rlich nicht au en vor lassen, nein sie ist sogar einer der Hauptpunkte seiner Analyse. Im Folgenden werde ich nun eben jene Szene analysieren, die Leitmotive des Romans untersuchen und sie auf die Urszene zur ckbeziehen. Dabei werde ich mich nicht nur an Freuds Interpretation halten, sondern vor allem auch meine eigenen Vermutungen mit ein bringen. Die Frage, die sich stellt und die ich letztendlich beantworten m chte, ist, in wie fern Realit t und Wahnsinn ineinander verschmelzen.
