This new translation attempts to inform the general as well as the more specialized reader of what Aristophanes put on stage in 423 B.C. It remains more or less faithful to the original Greek, avoiding radical changes that would make the Clouds conform to linguistic "fads" at the very end of the twentieth century. The book includes an informative introduction about the author and the play, a chronological chart of the fifth century B.C., a selective bibliography for further reading and various notes that explain to the reader a diversity of religious, cultural, political and social beliefs and practices of the ancient peoples of Athens. This book also highlights Aristophanes' comic genius and emphasizes the diversity of themes and variety of subjects which the Clouds portrays as conceived by Aristophanes' unsurpassed comic imagination.

Polish-born, London-based Goshka Macuga (born 1967) adopts the roles of an artist, curator, collector, researcher and exhibition designer, working across a variety of media to explore how and why we remember both cultural and personal events. She particularly focuses on how we build our own classificatory systems for creating and remembering knowledge in times of rapidly advancing technology and information saturation. This book, published for the exhibition "To the Son of Man Who Ate the Scroll," is organized as an atlas and retraces for the first time Macuga's career from 1993 to the present day. The volume is edited by Mario Mainetti and includes original essays along with an anthology of texts by the artist published for former projects.

Speculative fiction opens doors for imagining beyond what is possible, conventional, or acceptable. With its acute ear for the social, the scientific and for political developments and change, speculative fiction makes frequent use of current topics. Reproduction and parenthood are pertinent social questions that are constantly being renegotiated in various arenas. By investigating the representation of families and reproduction in speculative fiction, the research collected in Populating the Future: Families and Reproduction in Speculative Fiction not only adds to the field of speculative fiction scholarship, but also contributes to the more general discussion about reproduction and family-making. Thanks to its multidisciplinary approach, this book will be of value to scholars and students of various disciplines, such as literature studies, philosophy, ethics, political science, the social sciences and gender studies. It will also be a useful resource in teacher training programmes, as well as to a more general audience interested in speculative literature, politics, society, gender and ethics.
