Words of Life: With Scripture Referencing the Power of the Word

Words of Life: With Scripture Referencing the Power of the Word

I believe that The LORD wants His people to recognize the power of His WORD as found in The Bible as well as our own words that we speak each day. His scripture tells us that we "do not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live." We have the resource of our Bible to teach us to speak words correctly. When we speak weakness, sickness, and trouble over ourselves, we give those things an open door. When we speak life, healing, wellness, and positive outcomes over ourselves, we give good things access. God's word teaches us, "For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned." God's WORD has been compared to a sword, fire, gold, a hammer, a mirror, and a lamp. Lottie's thoughts of illness began in her mind. We are told to "take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." God's word, like a sword, slays negative thinking before it takes hold. His word is also like fire. Fire purifies. It cleans off all of the dirt and grime. It lets the beauty shine and kills the rotten and the ugly. As stated, "Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you." Psalms reads, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." It is through study and application of His word that we find the good path. We get instruction and wisdom from the lamp of His word. It guides us through darkness and fear. It illuminates. His word is a hammer which breaks those rocks that appear to be unmovable, unshakeable, and unbearable. We can believe Him when He says, "I will take sickness away from the midst of thee." We are told that the words of God are more desired than any gold. Gold shines and represents the glory of God. Gold is the evidence that God is at work. As we are reminded, "When thou has eaten and art full, then though shalt bless the LORD thy God for the good land which he hath given thee . . . and when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied." Further, God's word is like a mirror. When we "look into it" then we will "be blessed."9 When we behold "as in a glass the glory of the Lord," then we "are changed into the same image from glory to glory." 10 Daily reading of God's word will cause us to reflect His glory into the world in which we live. There is great power in the words that God has equipped us to speak for they have come through Jesus and share His strength. Our savior, Jesus, spoke words over the sick and they were healed. He spoke words over the lame and they leaped for joy. He spoke words over the blind and they gained sight. As the scripture says, "for his word was with power." When we talk about The WORD, we are talking about Jesus. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." Jesus is The Healer. Speaking of Jesus, Isaiah says, "and with his stripes we are healed." Throughout His ministry, "great multitudes came together to hear; and to be healed by him of their infirmities." When He was preparing to leave the earth and return to Heaven, Jesus gave the commission to, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." He told them that they would be able to "lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." We see an example of this happening in Acts when the "Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately." Not only is Jesus, The WORD which delivers healing, He is The WORD which gives eternal life. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life." From early times, God has told us to "choose life, obey His voice, for He is thy life, and the length of thy days." We are reminded in the Psalms, that "He sent His word, and healed them."

The life story of Marion Richardson's mother, Charlotte, had been a closed book for almost seventy years. Only recently had the layers that veiled the unturned pages of her childhood begun to unfold. This is the story of a young child in Belgium born to German citizens. Their lives were interrupted when the Nazi regime entered their peaceful village temporarily robbing her family of their father and war-aged siblings. Life was disrupted when she, her brother, and mother were evacuated to their homeland border by way of panzer tanks. All seemed stripped away when as refugees, they found themselves relocated in the Red Cross city of Celle, Germany with no home or belongings. As this story unfolds it takes little Charlotte and her family through life in a coal mine town of Belgium, the Battle of the Bulge, and the final days of the Third Reich. Here are the intimate first hand memories from her childhoodFirst the path is divulged that set the stage for the celebration of the American dream that a little girl from Belgium disclosed. The book then takes a turn as post-war events including the Berlin Airlift introduce the young airman, Jack, onto the scene. The fullness of the story emerges as they marry, move to America, and experience life under the direction of the United States Air Force. This is a triangle of a love story where two individuals from seemingly incompatible backgrounds unite with Lady Liberty under the banner of the flag of independence in this heart warming tale, "Ich Bin Charlotte."

God chose that the blood of the lamb placed on the lintel at Passover be remembered every year in order that when Jesus came as the perfect sacrifice all would recognize the story. The ordinance of Communion further memorializes the redemption of sin which Jesus won for us at The Cross of Calvary. God said, "And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons forever."I encourage parents to teach their children the wonderful stories from the Bible which will help them to understand the character and wonders of God, the divine, sacrificial life of His son, Jesus, and the acts of The Holy Spirit.

What an amazing story the Lord has placed in the night sky for all of His children to see and understand. It never ceases to make me stop and wonder at the majesty of our God who had a plan to save the earth before He ever created it What grace was exhibited when He created the human race knowing His own son would be required to die to save them from their own freewill actions. Here, the friends explore the concept that the stars speak, telling the gospel story. We have included a brief review of the twelve constellations and the story they tell. May all of God's children hear and believe the story God has written in the stars. Enjoy as you listen to the stars speak

The scriptures have so much to say about seedtime and harvest. From the very beginning, God created each plant to produce a seed after its own kind. Thus, the seed would be found in the plant that produced it. The pattern was established at creation. The words of our Lord, Jesus, have a lot to say about planting, harvesting, sowing, and reaping. He told many parables intended to teach these very profound concepts. There are keys that unlock great wisdom in the words Christ spoke about seedtime and harvest and its similarity to His Kingdom.Just as Lottie and the friends studied God's word and waited upon Him to reveal the words that should be spoken, so too, I trust that young readers will reap great harvest in opening the scriptures to the truths God chooses to reveal. We could all use to be more like Ruach, the little dove, who scratches, pecks, and seeks to get inside things that are sealed in order to have better understanding of those "words that should be spoken." May your seeking be fruitful

As we hear and study of Jesus, our minds and eyes are opened. The spiritual light inside our head and heart is turned on and we begin, with the help of the Holy Spirit, to understand God's word. The more we know about Jesus, the more we know Jesus. That enlightenment that comes enables us to "see" God's plan for our lives as well as His plans for His Kingdom here on earth. Elisha prayed that The LORD would open the eyes of his servant in 2 Kings 6:17 saying, "I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see." In the same manner, you will, as Matthew describes, "understand with their heart." Luke writes, "Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see."In reading this book, seeing the love in the hearts of Lottie and her pals, may you too be drawn to the Gospel message. May you have a desire to invite others to hear God's word, to be a part of bringing others into the Kingdom of God where they can learn more about Him, His Son, and His Spirit. In doing so, they will connect to God's plan for their lives and futures.

My original intent in writing "The Witch Letters" was to pose a word of caution regarding what appears to be a growing loose attitude toward the practice of witchcraft. This is a real art which opens real pathways into the mind and soul. Children have very impressionable minds which without boundaries are susceptible to the influence of beliefs and practices that can be harmful.Although I believe that my stated intent still comes through in this tale, I want to share how the power of the Holy Spirit redirected the story line. What I would have presented as a lesson or admonishment, The Lord clearly reshaped into a love story. It demonstrates the wooing of the creator for His creation, our Father's desire to seek out His children, the extreme passion of our great Lord, Jesus for relationship. So what we have here is a story about a young woman who was delving into things that were not good for her when she has a life changing encounter with her savior, Jesus. She is no longer known for the actions in which she once participated. She becomes known for who she is, His beloved child

In "An Audience Before the King", the author has taken the liberty to imagine how an audience of stately students would have appeared as they sat before the great throne of King Solomon. She delves into a day in his court, his words, his actions, his dress, and mannerisms. Based on Proverbs 22:22 through 24:22, this is a short tale regarding 30 admonitions and knowledge presented by King Solomon of Israel.

"Little Dove" is the 2015 Bronze Medal winner of The Illumination Awards Enduring Lights Medal for Christian Children's Book. The Holy Spirit is found throughout the Bible, both in the Old and New Testaments. His work is acclaimed. His position in the Trinity is undeniable. He, along with God, the Father, and Jesus, the Son, are described as being together at creation and at Jesus' baptism. He is called "the Spirit of The Lord." He seals, anoints, and empowers. The scriptures compare His actions to that of water, wind, fire, oil, wine, and seed. The most frequent and possibly the most recognized symbol for the Spirit is that of a dove. In Matthew 3:16, Jesus emerges from the water "and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him." It is my desire that young children come to recognize the move of the Holy Spirit in their lives. By identifying and illustrating fourteen actions of the little dove, I hope that the character of the Spirit of The Lord is more understandable to both young and old.

I have written Little Lottie in hopes that God's children might fully understand "the breadth, and length, and depth, and height" of the love of God. The apostle John teaches in 1 John 4:7-8 that "love is of God... for God is love." I have included a few pages of scripture at the back of the book which give the assurance that God's love is everlasting, unconditional, and no thing is able to separate us from His love. Each of God's children are created as uniquely special members of His kingdom and are "wonderfully made." He watches over our daily lives, seeing "every precious thing." The Bible refers to God's beloved ones as "the apple of His eye." This reference is to one's pupil which requires constant care and protection. We can be confident that God will, as Aaron prays in Numbers 6:25-26, "make His face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee; ... lift up His countenance upon thee, and give thee peace."The greatest evidence of unfathomable love is in Romans 5:8 which declares "in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." John 3:16 testifies that "God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Christ Jesus reaffirms this promise in John 10:28-30, adding that we are held in His hands and no man can keep us from Him. "And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand... and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one."

In LITTLE LEVIATHAN, it the author's desire that this tale bring the reader a greater respect for the power and glory of God witnessed through His own words concerning His creation, to an understanding of His divine providence over His beloved, to a great faith in the victory Jesus Christ has won over any enemies and all fear, and that it would cause your heart to well up with praise for our most holy and benevolent God.She wrote this rhyming tale based on Chapter 41 of Job because it was intriguing to her that the Lord would elaborate so eloquently on one of His creatures. There is great diversity among Biblical scholars as to the identity of the leviathan. Some believe him to have been a crocodile or whale, others a dinosaur. Mrs. Richardson believes the literal context of Job 41 which she understands to be that leviathan was an extremely enormous sea creature whose identity and physique were familiar to the inhabitants of Israel in the time of the patriarchs. As stated by God, leviathan snorted and breathed fire, produced light, could not be trapped, had no fear, and played happily in the ancient waters. There is a discourse in the back of the book where Marion compares the leviathan in his earthly realm to the life of the Christian in the spiritual realm. Parents and teachers might find this to be a useful tool for discussion with children.

So many stories have been written concerning the birth of Jesus that our understanding of what the Bible really reveals has become clouded. The characters involved in the Bethlehem story are in reality limited and precise. In order to present only accurate facts, the author read through the scriptures and identified those details of Christ's birth. Some are prophecy. Some are accounts in the gospels. She has included scriptural passages to assist the reader as the story unfolds. The illustrations in the book are her personal interpretation of how the characters and setting might have looked. As with most of Marion's art, it is simple and primitive in its form. She feels that this format encourages the reader to use their imagination in visualizing the scene. As you celebrate the birth of our saviour, Jesus Christ, may this book stimulate discussion regarding the events which surrounded his birth. As you ponder the birth of Jesus, be mindful that he left heaven to come to earth. He left heaven on a path to the cross at Calvary. He left heaven because of his immense love for you and for me. He is Emmanuel, God with us
