A great deal of research on teachers' perceptions about the teacher leadership approach has been conducted in different countries. However, little has been written on the teacher leadership in Kurdish schools. To achieve this objective, a case study was performed that involved two Kurdish secondary schools in the Sumel District belonging to the Dohuk Governorate in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI). In this book, you will find the perceptions of the Kurdish teachers about teacher leadership approach, which includes: decision making, changing, solving problems, and freedom during teaching. And also, you will see how principal and supervisor deal with an ambitious teacher who want to change and share the decision making inside the school.

As the Kurdish question becomes more prominent in Middle Eastern politics, it is attracting attention from the media, the academic community, and governmental and non-governmental organizations. Swamped with questions from the press and academic departments, students of Kurdish topics have needed a comprehensive bibliography on the Kurds. This book meets that need. An introductory essay provides users with general background information on the Kurds and Kurdistan. With over 800 entries, the annotated bibliography provides information on the most important works about the Kurds and Kurdistan published from World War II through 1996. Emphasizing recent titles, the book focuses on English-language scholarly works. Arranged in topical chapters, the book opens with a section on general works, then covers travel works, history and archaeology, politics, minorities and religion in Kurdistan, society, economy, language and education, literature and folklore, and culture and arts.

Libraries in the Arab world are numerous and have a long and distingished history. Today, they serve over 250 million people. To provide good service to this large population and improve other areas of librarianship and information services, the evaluation of library and information services becomes a necessity. This is particularly true in the case of libraries in the Arab world, because locating such materials is not an easy task, given the lack of comprehensive and current bibliographies that cover Arab-related Library and Information Science literature. This bibliography fills this significant gap and provides an indispensable guide for any research in the field with over 1,000 entries covering books, scholarly and professional journal articles, chapters in books, doctoral dissertations, and conference papers. Items included are mainly in Arabic, English, and French; but some German, Swedish, Danish, Finnish, and Italian works are also covered. The bibliography includes author, title, and subject indexes.
The first ever sourcebook on U.S.-Kurdish relations, The Kurdish Question in U.S. Foreign Policy is a unique and timely work. It not only reproduces the full text of over 325 of the most important U.S. government documents dealing with the Kurdish question, but also provides both a guide to U.S. government sources for locating subsequently published materials and an annotated list of over 200 primary and secondary sources. Thorough and instructive, the book serves as an invaluable research tool and published national archive of U.S. government documents on U.S-Kurdish issues.U.S. government information is crucial for any research or reading on American involvement in Kurdish affairs. This sourcebook alleviates some of the problems associated with using U.S. government documents, such as lack of access and difficulty in identifying relevant sources. It educates users on where and how to find relevant U.S. government information on the Kurds as well as other stateless nations. Detailed subject, author, and title indices are also included to allow easy access and identification of key materials. The first ever documentary sourcebook and annotated bibliography on U.S. foreign policy towards the Kurds, The Kurdish Question in U.S. Foreign Policy should appeal to all academic, special, and public libraries, as well as among government and news agencies.
This is the first bibliography exclusively devoted to censorship in the Arab world. It includes items in such areas as academic freedom; book banning; book trade; copyright and intellectual property; freedom of information, communication, and expression; freedom of the press and politics; intellectual freedom; the Internet; journalistic ethics; laws and legislation; libraries; library acquisitions; literature; privacy; radio and television; and theater and film. More than 650 items are included in this bibliography ranging from books, scholarly journal articles, and chapters in books to doctoral dissertations, conference papers, and articles in scholarly dictionaries and encyclopedias in Arabic, English, French, and several other languages published between 1960 and 2004. Extensive cross-references are provided at the end of each chapter and an author and title index are also included. This is an indispensable guide for students, educators, researchers, journalists, policy makers, and the general public interested in uncovering the realities of censorship in the Arab world.
