This new collection of 33 short poems about life was inspired, in part, by the following quote from Jiddu Krishnamurti: "What is the art of living? Where there is division in us psychologically there must be conflict, and therefore disorder. As long as there is disorder, trying to find order is still disorder."Nowhere is this division more obvious, more acute, more noticeable than in our everyday relationships with one another in our normal, mundane day to day living. The simple fact of the matter is that we are conflicted, confused and often deeply wounded. And the fact of our "brokenness" tends to manifest as deep loneliness and a feeling of estrangement from the very people we desire to be closest to and share our lives with.

This new collection of 33 poems about life and love take their inspiration from the following Jiddu Krishnamurti quote..."To be free, the mind must not only see and understand its pendulum-like swing between the past and the future but also be aware of the interval between thoughts..."Each poem seeks to illuminate and explore the (sometimes) "spacious" gaps between our thoughts engendered by the many "things" and "moments" that make up our daily life. As such, each poem is a bit like a "still life" focusing on the often overlooked aspects of our day to day existence.

This collection of 33 poems about life and death speak to those painful spaces that echo between our shared experience of love and loss. Each poem offers an honest and heartfelt reflection on grief and loneliness based, in part, on the writings of J. Krishnamurti."When death comes, it does not ask your permission; it comes and takes you; it destroys you on the spot. In the same way, can you totally drop hate, envy, pride of possession, attachment to beliefs, to opinions, to ideas, to a particular way of thinking? Can you drop all that in an instant?" J. Krishnamurti

Nature is an amazing teacher (should we care to look and observe attentively). And so the title for this Lenormand Guidebook emerged, "Nature Speaks." The principle behind this "re-imagining" of the traditional deck (and guidebook) was to look at each card as if for the first time, find striking photos for each one and then match them with a short reflection. In this guidebook you'll find keywords including "light" and "shadow" aspects for each of the 36 cards along with questions to guide your own meditation. It is my sincere hope that something within these pages will provide you with the guidance you seek.

From the simple to the sublime, this collection of 33 short poems about life shines a spotlight on our relationship with others (and ourselves) as reflected in the (often) mundane experiences of everyday life. Each lived moment can be an epiphany - each word or gesture a gateway into a deeper and fuller understanding of our human experience in all its complexity. After all, according to Jiddu Krishnamurti "Relationship is the mirror in which you discover yourself."

The theme for this third collection of short poems is a meditation on life and love inspired by a quote from Jiddu Krishnamurti... "Can there be love when the mind is occupied with itself all the time?"These 33 poems invite you to ask questions rather than providing concrete answers which are fueled and fed by our ongoing relationship to ourselves, to other people we encounter and finally with our world.

Antoine Leperlier (b. 1953) is a trained visual artist and painter. He has been working as a freelance glass artist since the 1980s, developing his own glass technique based on casting and the lost-wax technique to create large-format translucent and painterly blocks. In this survey of work spanning more than 40 years, skulls float, snakes are frozen alive, and what looks like abstract watercolours are preserved forever. Time stands still, the universe speaks. His works explore transience and memory, past and future; he stops time, makes moments eternal. Enamel and ceramic inclusions, bubbles, colours, and engravings create colourful, expressive worlds reminiscent of organic forms floating in outer space. This endeavour to capture dynamic images in material form is an approach unique in contemporary glass art. Text in English and French.
Exporting Democracy to Haiti: A Military Perspective

Exporting Democracy to Haiti: A Military Perspective

The United States'; democratization strategy since World War II demonstrates an estimated success rate of less than 3%. America currently uses a counterinsurgency / line of effort approach in democratization. This approach seeks to shape an environment that protects democratic behavior but fails to address a country's democratic propensities, more specifically the potential of its attitudes and values with respect to democracy. A superior method is the path-dependent approach that seeks to exploit the potential of a country's prevailing attitudes and values by harnessing its democratic propensities. This paper analyzes the American military interventions of Haiti in 1915, 1994, and 2004 from a path-dependent perspective to determine whether it could have enabled better results. The United States used a counterinsurgency / line of effort approach to democratization during its first and second interventions in Haiti; both resulted in a failure to affect Haiti's democratic propensities. The United States used a hybrid path-dependent and counterinsurgency / line of effort approach to democratization during its third intervention of Haiti resulting in a tangible enrichment of Haiti's democratic propensities. The results suggest a path-dependent approach to stability operations has a better probability of success than the current approach used by the United States.
