Was zum Verständnis unverzichtbar und welcher Schritt der nächste zur tieferen Einsicht ist, zeigt sich auf einen Blick, denn die einzelnen Kapitel des Buches sind nach Schwierigkeitsgrad und Wichtigkeit geordnet und gekennzeichnet. Selbst der Anfänger lernt so in kurzer Zeit auch komplexe Zusammenhänge verstehen.
Der Autor geht davon aus, dass es an den Zeichengrenzen Übergangsbereiche gibt. Außerdem kommt es zu Maxima oder Minima in der Zeichenmitte bei jeweils 15?. Weitere Grade wurden empirisch gefunden. Der vorliegende Band enthält die Deutungen zu allen bislang bekannten kritischen Graden im Horoskop.
Der Autor hat mit seinem System der gezeigt, dass es im die Grade des Tierkreises in unterschiedlich Stärke wirken und folglich auch eigenständige Bedeutungen haben. Das Padagogium Regium und das Dessauer Philanthropin gelten bis heute als Musterschulen des 18. Jahrhunderts. Das Padagogium Regium wurde bereits von Bildungshistorikern um 1900 als die innovative Gelehrtenschule des 18. Jahrhunderts angesehen, von der zahlreiche padagogische Impulse auf das hohere Schulwesen nachfolgender Zeiten ausgingen. Das Dessauer Philanthropin gilt seit den 1970er Jahren als Beginn einer "fortschrittlichen" und "modernen" Padagogik. Oftmals wurden beide Schulen jedoch nur einzeln und auf Grundlage weniger programmatischer Schriften untersucht. Michael Rocher hinterfragt in seiner Studie die Musterhaftigkeit beider Einrichtungen anhand umfangreicher, bisher kaum beachteter Quellenbestande. Ausgehend von ihrer institutionellen Entwicklung werden beide Schulen nicht nur miteinander, sondern mit weiteren hoheren Schulen der Zeit hinsichtlich der Sozialstruktur ihrer Schulerschaften und ihrer Schulorganisation sowie Lehrplanen verglichen. Dadurch konnen sie erstmals in den mitteleuropaischen, protestantischen Bildungsraum des 18. Jahrhunderts eingeordnet werden. Daruber hinaus wird deutlich, dass spezifisch "pietistische" oder "philanthropische" padagogische Ideen nur eine untergeordnete Rolle in der jeweiligen Schulausrichtung gespielt haben. Beide Institute waren sehr stark vom Lehr- und Lernmarkt ihrer Zeit abhangig und richteten daher ihre Agenda immer wieder auf diesen aus.
