But its more that your usual study because this resource becomes an experience for you, your family, your group, and your church. The experience is also customizable in that you get to choose the community that suits you best. Whether family, student, small group, work associates, or school classmates you will grow together in your own personalized tent. Is God more than an impersonal ruler of the universe? Are there secrets about him that we don't grasp? How well can we really know God? Even though God is beyond our full comprehension, we can know his nature and character. Digging into his Word and seeking to know him day by day will make for one amazing journey, with a new treasure to discover in every encounter. In the Bible, God is acknowledged as the great I Am. "Hold fast." This is the word of the risen Christ, the one who has eyes like flames of fire, who holds seven stars in his right hand and who searches the minds and hearts of all humans. In Revelation 2 3 his word comes to us like two-edged sword, both encouraging and judging. Jesus calls us to hold fast in the face of temptations of all sorts, but sternly warns those who follow false teachings. Though Jesus is speaking to seven ancient churches of Asia Minor, his words ring true today, calling us to patient endurancenot fearing tribulationrepenting of a dead faithkeeping God's Wordreceiving the crown of lifethe blessings of conquerorsJesus Speaks combines short devotional chapters with a built-in seven-session small group guide, which forms a church-wide series when coupled with the companion seven-session DVD. Jesus offers us his guidance through both the pitfalls and paths toward holiness. Are you ready to listen?"
As Christians, we are called to speak. Some of us speak out in our workplaces. Others in our schools or neighborhoods. Our audiences may vary in size, but we are all called to witness to Christ in us. Pastor Mike Baker puts it like this: "Jesus himself has commissioned each of us to be a witness for his kingdom. And every believer has a faith testimony a story of how Jesus has made all the difference compelling us to be his representatives." Written in daily devotional style, this book is designed to be an encouragement and support as you identify and add your voice to the chorus. In addition to the chapters by Mike Baker, there are daily devotions by J. K. Jones and a seven-session weekly group study guide by Jim Probst to help you process all that you are learning. Also available is a companion DVD of brief weekly video teachings by all three pastors, which completes this church-wide curriculum series. We live in an age of meaningless chatter. It's time we became speakers of Truth."

Baker Bleu The Book is a cookbook of sorts. At least, it has 70-plus delicious, inventive recipes for anyone who wants to emulate the best bread and Roman-style sourdough pizza bases in Melbourne. And those who are sandwich fiends (like Neil Perry), or who aspire to resourcefulness with leftover bread, or use croissant dough to make simple filled pastries at home (and prudently leave the whole croissant palaver to the experts). Or just crave the bakery's now cultish vegan challah (born of the fact its first low-grade food licence did not allow them to work with eggs). But there is more to it too. It's also a story of what's possible when you wake up one day and decide there's more to life than the soulless corporate grind. And you sign on with pluck and ambition to bake it till you make it.
A four-season guide to the Mount Baker-Mount Shuksan area, it details everything outdoor enthusiasts need to know to get the most out of their experience in the Mount Baker-Shuksan area. An all-season's approach, this guide covers the best hiking trails for all levels, the deepest powder for snowboarders, telemark turns in July, snowshoeing in winter, trail running for the fitness inspired, and the safest routes for summiting both peaks. After a long day in the backcountry, warm up with hot cocoa in an historic fire lookout, watch bald eagles nest, or salmon spawn. No other book covers this area so extensively and no other book is written specifically for the half-million recreationalists who visit this area each year.

Mike the Tiger-the only live tiger mascot in the United States-is an iconic presence on LSU's campus. From his tiger sanctuary next to Tiger Stadium, he draws a steady stream of fans, adults and children alike. In this new book about LSU's favorite tiger, Mike's former veterinarian David G. Baker reflects on his decades of caring for three of the live mascots, beginning with Mike V in 1996. Baker gives fascinating behind-the-scenes glimpses of the tigers as he recounts episodes such as Mike VI's cancer diagnosis, treatment, and death, and the search for Mike VII. He gives details about the tiger's daily care and routine, provides answers to commonly asked questions about the mascot program, and discusses Mike's popular social media presence. He also delves into new traditions, such as the creation of "meat art" for Mike to devour before home football games and the overnight holding of graduation rings in the night house with Mike. In addition to Baker's own text, Mike: The Tigers of LSU includes remembrances from many of the tiger's veterinary student caretakers over the years, who reveal how caring for Mike the Tiger impacted their lives. Loaded with more than one hundred new and historical photos, Mike is sure to please the most avid fans of LSU's mascot.
