In Montague Terrace, nothing is quite what is seems. Within its boundaries live an array of strange and extraordinary residents, including Paul Gregory, self-exiled pop crooner holed up in his Montague hovel for close to forty years, with only fading memories of a semi-successful music career and a bottle of JD for company. Mrs Beatrice Green, codename Babushka, an aged former special ops agent fighting a new war against overzealous council officials. Marvo the Magic Bunny and Mystical Marvin, a pair of down-on-their luck entertainers, shielding a disturbing past. The Puppeteer, toiling away day and night, pulling the strings of world events and causing chaos out of order. Landlocked sailors, fake pet psychics, hounded inventors and randy postmen. Welcome to Montague Terrace...

Brothers. Detectives. Witches? Meet Pete and Alastair Montague in the first installment of a new graphic novel duology that is the Hardy Boys meets Paper Girls. Pete and Alastair Montague are just a couple of mystery-solving twins, living an ordinary life. Or so they thought. After a strange storm erupts on a visit to the beach, they discover there is more to their detective skills than they had thought. Their guardian, David Faber, a once prominent professor, has been keeping secrets about their parents and what the boys are truly capable of. At the same time, three girls go missing after casting a mysterious spell, which sets in motion a chain of events that takes their small town down an unexpected path. With the help of David's daughter, Charlie, they discover there are forces at work that they never could have imagined, which will impact their lives forever. An exciting new graphic novel from innovative creators Nathan Page and Drew Shannon that is at once timely and thrilling.

Past and present meet on mysterious Montague Island. In this, the fourth book of the popular Montague Island Mysteries series of logic puzzle books (over 56,000 copies sold), Gordon Montague is working on his memoirs, which are filled with reminiscences (and puzzles) of his younger days, and his earliest experiences on Montague Island. Helping Gordon review the manuscript is Taylor, who by now is a lifelong friend-but then something happens that gives Taylor's presence on the island another urgent purpose. From Taylor's perspective, solvers will study maps and blueprints, attend parties, meet dogs, plan a wedding, and more.
Montague Summers, Occultist: A Study of the Writings on Witches, Vampires and Werewolves
Montague Summers (1880-1948) collected real-life nightmares from around the world--the legends that have over the decades become movie and fiction fodder--vampires, the werewolf, and witchcraft. Summers maintained that each of these genuinely existed, and argued for the reality of these monstrosities as a real-life danger. Portions of the lore Summers found and included in his books on the occult and the supernatural would later be used in films from the silent era, through the Universal horror films, and would make their way into horror films such as The Vampire Lovers (1970), becoming a part of Hammer horror films "Carmilla" cycle, and extending into the present, such as Renfield, Abigail, The Last Voyage of the Demeter and even the new remake of Salem's Lot. Summers's writing on vampires and witchcraft also have found their way into popular culture, as demonstrated by Dark Shadows (1966-1971) and its various incarnations from the 1970s films through reboots in 1991, 2004, and a feature film in 2012. Summers gives his readers a special look at the legends themselves, having unearthed many of the original beliefs and folkways about how to deal with vampires, witches, and other occult entities. This first biography of the clergyman and curator of the macabre is a thoroughly illustrated celebration of his life, work, and lasting influence on horror cinema.

Two of these stories, the third and fourth, have appeared in print in the Cambridge Review, and I wish to thank the proprietor for permitting me to republish them here. I have had my doubts about the wisdom of publishing a third set of tales; sequels are, not only proverbially but actually, very hazardous things. However, the tales make no pretence but to amuse, and my friends have not seldom asked for the publication. So not a great deal is risked, perhaps, and perhaps also some one's Christmas may be the cheerfuller for a storybook which, I think, only once mentions the war.

The Hardy Boys meets Paper Girls in the second volume of this mystery series featuring teen detectives, witches, and now a mystery rock 'n' roll song capable of a sinister, Pied Piper-like hypnosis. Alastair, Pete, Charlie, and Rachel aren't just magical teen detectives in their coastal town of Port Howl--they are also members of a local teen rock band. Before a show one night, Charlie and Rachel meet a famous rockstar, Gideon, and invite him to their show. He'll never come, but why not try, right? Little do they know, Gideon does show up, and he brings the threads of his dark past with him. In fact, he might even be the source of the rumored Devil's Music, a limited-release song that entrances all of its listeners in a deadly hypnosis. When Pete quickly gets drawn into Gideon's web, it's up to his brother and friends to save him. But Pete might not be the only Montague Twin at risk for Gideon's spell...
