Anthology: David Wakes Up-Vox-The Evolution: An Anthology of Various Stories
The pernicious fatalism of alcoholism, the inspiring power of a child's fantasy to cope, and a Jungian stream of consciousness journey into a Nineteenth Century black man's spiritual vault to evolve beyond slavery. As divergent as these three stories appear, they depict a common theme: cope, adapt, evolve, or perish. David Wakes Up occurs during the first fifteen minutes of a man awakening from an alcoholic stupor. The story examines the conflict of man against himself and alcoholism. Vox, an apparent children's yarn, applies a basic maxim: be watchful of unknowns meaning well, as they are capable of great damage. The Evolution is a "trip" through a psyche, a snapshot of archetypes if they could converse and what could be the nascent seeds of evolution.

Marzee Banks is a peeping Tom.Scantily clad college girls sunning on the beach, and spying through unsuspecting lovers' windows at night-these pursuits possess him. Marzee Banks is a bright African-American college student, striving to escape what he considers the hum-drum of lower middle-class blackness in Southern California. Yet he fights the battle with futility, with his voyeuristic demon gnawing and gnashing at him constantly. Almost caught while cruising a student apartment complex, he is referred to counseling by his psychology professor who witnessed him running away. While in therapy, he attempts to explore the origins of his inner demons, only to be diverted by them instead. Uncontrollable lust obsesses him when he first encounters his philosophy instructor, a ravishing mid-thirties German woman named Utte Thorndike. Smitten by her beauty and mystique, he stalks her. Discovering her address on the Internet, he visits her neighborhood, peeps through her bedroom window at night, and finally enters her house when it is vacant. What he discovers and what he hears while hiding frantically in a broom closet throws his already chaotic life into a frenzy. Loss, abandonment, grief, and trust-all rush in to replace his obsessions as he races to protect that from which he yearned to escape.
The Carbon Cult: All of history was conspiracy--a conspiracy to evolve.
It is said that history is written by those who survive. True as this edict may be, the statement ignores the conditions and elements which combined to create the events recorded-the ingredients of the historical brew. The Carbon Cult delves into the lives of the last three generations of individuals dedicated to designing the unfolding of human events. Over four millennia, they had carved the template to which events had conformed; they added the catalysts; they implemented the critical turning points to adjust the trajectory of-humans today. One cannot speak of conspiracy theory unless this enduring cult occupies the top of the list.

The Fourth industrial Revolution (4IR) is forcing higher education (HE) into a new era where it must either actively and positively contribute to innovation, sustainability, and development or become obsolete and redundant. HE must leave its ivory tower and forge links and partnerships with society, industry, and governing bodies by delivering graduates that are holistically educated and trained to bring positive innovation and change and to address the challenges that humanity is facing in the 21st century.
