Unchained!: A Pastor's Journey From Mere Religion To Authentic Spirituality

How is it possible for a dedicated Christian pastor to leave the faith which his family has been following for five generations? Why would he abandon what his college and seminary education had prepared him for, as well as many deeply held beliefs? Why would a Christian pastor in his right mind do such things? What you are about to read is the personal journey of a man who followed the dictates of his heart, and the clear guidance of God, even though it went against virtually everything he was taught to believe.Steeped in the darkness of mere religion based on guilt and fear, Pastor Paul Vogt found himself mired in the mud of theological exclusivity, and spiritual arrogance. This false system lead him to the abandonment of all that he had held dear, and near personal destruction. If it wasn't for the intervention of God through a prophetic vision given many years before, this book may have never been written.Dr. Paul knows what it is to "stand for the right, though the heavens fall." He knows what it is to defend the truth, though it costs his career and living. He knows how the darkness works in counterfeiting the truths of the Light, through false doctrines and teachings based on guilt and fear.Read and find out the simple truths Pastor Paul discovered when he removed the "rose-colored glasses" of mere religion, for the experience of authentic spirituality.
Pastors, Preachers, Leaders and Teachers, Don't Quit on Monday
This book is written for Pastors and Ministry leaders who have been faithful to their calling. I want to encourage these men and women to remain faithful to their vocation. It goes without saying that ministry isn't always easy. There are times when doing the work of the Lord can be overwhelming to the point of wanting to walk away from it all. It is a fact that many who serve in ministry suffer from burnout, stress and depression. It is the intent of this author to share some of the reasons why pastors, preachers and ministry leaders want to quit the ministry and why they need to re-evaluate what they are doing and find ways to work smarter and not harder. As you read through this book it is my hope that you learn two things. First, you are not alone when you feel like calling it quits and secondly, you will find ways to slow down, catch your breath and do what is necessary to have a refreshing and effective ministry.

Pastor Paul – Nurturing a Culture of Christoformity in the Church

Being a pastor is a complicated calling. Pastors are often pulled in multiple directions and must "become all things to all people" (1 Cor. 9:22). What does the New Testament say (or not say) about the pastoral calling? And what can we learn about it from the apostle Paul?According to popular New Testament scholar Scot McKnight, pastoring must begin first and foremost with spiritual formation, which plays a vital role in the life and ministry of the pastor. As leaders, pastors both create and nurture culture in a church. The biblical vision for that culture is Christoformity, or Christlikeness. Grounding pastoral ministry in the pastoral praxis of the apostle Paul, McKnight shows that nurturing Christoformity was at the heart of the Pauline mission. The pastor's central calling, then, is to mediate Christ in everything. McKnight explores seven dimensions that illustrate this concept--friendship, siblings, generosity, storytelling, witness, subverting the world, and wisdom--as he calls pastors to be conformed to Christ and to nurture a culture of Christoformity in their churches.

Stone Movers: On Mission With Jesus

This is an interesting, engaging and story-filled look at missions. It is a result of 25 years of mistakes, successes and lessons learned. Short-term mission trips have become a multi Billion dollar industry in North America. For nearly 2000 years the entire focus of missionary work has been to reach the LOST. In the past 60 years the purpose of short-term mission trips has slowly changed and become focused on the TEAM going on the trip, not the LOST being reached out to. That focus needs to be reversed and biblical priorities re-instated. Jesus Himself was called "The Good Shepherd." This book puts "Shepherding" back in Missions where it belongs. Every book I have ever read on missions, and especially about short-term mission trips, have all been written from an administrative point of view. Those books are very much needed. The mission field is full of organized people with the gift of administration who know how to structure and execute a plan. They are willing to tell us all how to organize our trips, our evangelism, our quiet times, and our faith. However, I often find myself to be the only "Pastor" in a mission environment, surrounded by administrators who are so organized that they are often oblivious to the actual needs of people. They can organize any outreach program or service project, but if a staff member has a marriage problem they run and hide. So this book is written from the "Heart of a Pastor" with Biblical teaching, and is not restricted by denominational or doctrinal preferences. This book is solidly Evangelical.

In the twenty-first century, the role of women in the Bible has been the subject ofbooks, sermons, podcasts, and social media posts. Dr. Paul Cannings' latest book, Leaders in Heels, highlights women who modeled abandon and devotion to God. Forthat, they found themselves in Scripture's divine spotlight.Cannings sets the record straight on how women were foundational to theforward progress of the Kingdom of God in the Old and New Testaments. TakeBathsheba, who educated and sat enthroned next to a king. Mary of Bethanyassembled with men and learned at the feet of Jesus, leaving her sister to busy herselfwith household affairs (for which the Lord commended Mary). Mary Magdalene braved Golgotha and later trekked, before sunrise, to the tomb. She conversed with angels, was the first to see and talk to the risen Christ ─ and was the first the Lord commissioned to proclaim news of His resurrection. Phoebe, a courier for the Apostle Paul, braved treacherous roads to deliver his letter to the Romans, singular focus blaring.Indeed, as though aiming to shatter ancient stereotypes, Jesus Christ elevatedthe status of women during His earthly ministry. The time is now for Christendom tounderstand and accept the high value the Lord places on women surrendered to Him.This book is a must-read for all believers in Jesus Christ. Thus, it is our prayer thatreaders approach this book with an open mind ... and heart.Mignette Y. Dorsey, D.Min.Editor
