Die Entwicklung des Frauenstudiums und die Geschichte der Universit t M nchen im Nationalsozialismus erfahren mit dieser Arbeit eine substantielle Erweiterung. Auf Basis bislang au er Acht gelassener sowie eigenst ndig erhobener Quellen wird das Spannungsfeld zwischen staatlicher Hochschulpolitik und ihrer Auswirkung auf das Verhalten der weiblichen Studierenden an der LMU deutlich. Anhand der Frauen l sst sich das studentische Leben unter der NS-Herrschaft sowohl auf lokaler als auch auf Reichs- bzw. L nderebene beleuchten. Vor dem Hintergrund der zweitgr ten Universit t des Reiches wird auf diese Weise erstmals nachgezeichnet, inwieweit sich das Verhalten und die Reaktionen der Studentinnen zwischen den Extremen Anpassung und Widerstand bewegten. Dabei beleuchtet die Studie Auslese, Beschr nkung und Indienstnahme als drei zentrale Kategorien universit rer Herrschaftsprinzipien, welche im Dritten Reich eine durch rassenideologische und politische Kriterien definierte Elite formen sollten. Die wenigen bislang vorliegenden Erkenntnisse werden dabei profiliert und modifiziert.

The word "Petra" is of Greek origin and means "rock", which perfectly suits a city carved into the cliffs of Jordan.
