This is the story of a man who has a spontaneous out of body experience, which he finds he is able to repeat. After several exhilarating astral episodes, he discovers on his next projection that the daughter of a friend has been possessed by evil spirits. He discovers further that he can actually see the evil spirit forms, and during his attempt to help, the evil spirits discover him, and his odyssey begins.
This is the story of an African elephant named Tingle, born into the great herd led by Bolthar. You will follow her adventures and family life as she grows to young adulthood. But there is more to the story, as there always is. She befriends an endearing but odd couple of monkeys named Uncle Chukkor and his nephew Whizzer, who seems to think it doesn't really take wings to fly. Then she encounters a philosopher with a forked tongue and no legs named Ha-Ssuu, and finally a timid Gorilla named Gorbash, who talks to flowers. But then comes a dramatic change in her life, when she learns one day that she has a sister named Panush, long since banished from the herd by Bolthar. She makes the decision to leave her family and herd to search for her sister, which will take the reader and her through an odyssey that will leave you uplifted but emotionally drained. This is a great read-aloud story for children, where you can all take this journey of the heart with her.

The 18th century was a wealth of knowledge, exploration and rapidly growing technology and expanding record-keeping made possible by advances in the printing press. In its determination to preserve the century of revolution, Gale initiated a revolution of its own: digitization of epic proportions to preserve these invaluable works in the largest archive of its kind. Now for the first time these high-quality digital copies of original 18th century manuscripts are available in print, making them highly accessible to libraries, undergraduate students, and independent scholars. The Age of Enlightenment profoundly enriched religious and philosophical understanding and continues to influence present-day thinking. Works collected here include masterpieces by David Hume, Immanuel Kant, and Jean-Jacques Rousseau, as well as religious sermons and moral debates on the issues of the day, such as the slave trade. The Age of Reason saw conflict between Protestantism and Catholicism transformed into one between faith and logic -- a debate that continues in the twenty-first century.++++The below data was compiled from various identification fields in the bibliographic record of this title. War and Children is a thought-provoking book written by Anna Freud, a renowned psychoanalyst who specialized in child psychology. The book delves into the psychological impact of war on children, exploring the ways in which war affects the mental health and development of young people. Drawing on her extensive experience working with children affected by war, Anna Freud provides a deep and insightful analysis of the various ways in which war can traumatize children. She discusses the psychological effects of bombing, displacement, and separation from family members, as well as the long-term consequences of war on children's emotional and cognitive development. The book also examines the ways in which society can support children affected by war, including the provision of psychological care and the creation of safe spaces where children can express their emotions and fears. Overall, War and Children is a powerful and important book that sheds light on the often-overlooked impact of war on the most vulnerable members of society. It is a must-read for anyone interested in child psychology, trauma, and the effects of war on human beings.Foreword By Edna Blue. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. It is an extraordinary story, told with unique insight and authority by an author who knew the prince for more than forty years. Philip - elusive, complex, controversial, challenging, often humorous, sometimes irascible - is the man Elizabeth II once described as her 'constant strength and guide'. Who was he? What was he really like? What is the truth about those 'gaffes' and the rumours of affairs? This is the final portrait of an unexpected and often much-misunderstood figure. It is also the portrait of a remarkable marriage that endured for more than seventy years. Philip and Elizabeth were both royal by birth, both great-great-grandchildren of Queen Victoria, but, in temperament and upbringing, they were two very different people. The Queen's childhood was loving and secure, the Duke's was turbulent; his grandfather assassinated, his father arrested, his family exiled, his parents separated when he was only ten. Elizabeth and Philip met as cousins in the 1930s. They married in 1947, aged twenty-one and twenty-six. Philip: The Final Portrait tells the story of two contrasting lives, assesses the Duke of Edinburgh's character and achievement, and explores the nature of his relationships with his wife, his children and their families - and with the press and public and those at court who were suspicious of him in the early days. This is a powerful, revealing and, ultimately, moving account of a long life and a remarkable royal partnership.
