th The technologyoffroth flotation, invented in the early 20 century was first used for the concentration ofsulfide minerals. Since then it has been applied for the processing of many nonsulfide ores as well, including oxides, carbonates, silicates, soluble minerals like halite and sylvite and energy minerals like coal and bitumen. In recent years it has been used for several nonmineral applications, such as waste water treatment, deinking ofpaper for recycling and resource recovery from industrial wastes he technology continues to grow with new applications reportedevery year. Flotation is based on chemical phenomena occurring at the interfaces, solid/water and air/water. Surface Chemistry principles have played a significant role in the development of flotation technology. Knowledge ofaqueous solution chemistry and electrochemistry has added to our understanding ofthe reactions in flotation systems. ProfessorJan Leja's bookhas well served researchers and students as theytried to understand the chemistry of flotation, and it is a significant contribution to the advancement ofknowledge. However, since the book was first published, new research techniques and ever growing information have made an update necessary. The revised edition compiled by Dr. S. R. Rao has brought together fundamental aspects ofthe chemistryofflotation and how they apply to practical systems. It should serve all who are working in the area of flotation and interested inexploring new applications offlotation technology.

In order to use rare earths successfully in various applications, a good understanding of the chemistry of these elements is of paramount importance. Nearly three to four decades have passed since titles such as The Rare Earths edited by F.H. Spedding and A.H. Daane, The chemistry of the Rare Earth Elements by N.E. Topp and Complexes of the Rare Earths by S.P. Sinha were published. There have been many international conferences and symposia on rare earths, as well as the series of volumes entitled Handbook of Physics and Chemistry of Rare Earths edited by K.A. Gschneidner and L. Eyring. Thus, there is a need for a new title covering modern aspects of rare earth complexes along with the applications. The present title consists of twelve chapters. 1. Introduction2. General aspects3. Stability of complexes4. Lanthanide complexes5. Structural chemistry of lanthanide compounds6. Organometallic complexes7. Kinetics and mechanisms of rare earths complexation8. Spectroscopy of lanthanide complexes9. Photoelectron spectroscopy of rare earths10. Lanthanide NMR shift reagents11. Environmental ecological biological aspects12. Applications The authors studied in schools headed by pioneers in rare earth chemistry, have a combined experience of one hundred and fifty years in inorganic chemistry, rare earth complex chemistry, nuclear and radiochemistry of rare earths and supramolecular chemistry. The present monograph is a product of this rich experience.

In the current era researchers have attracted much interest in Rare earth (RE) doped nonlinear optical single crystals over transition metals due to their promising applications and great importance in modern science and technology and had been extensively used in modern lighting. In this book, we emphasized the growth of rare earth metal (Tb, Ce and Eu) doped L-Histidine hydrochloride monohydrate single crystals were discussed in conventional and unidirectional methods at low temperature. In respective optimised direction the HRXRD of the above crystals are explained including other basic properties. The rare earth metal doped L-Histidine HCl.H2O crystals have shown excellent in optical transparency and thermal stability in unidirectional method with respect to conventional. The RE: L-Histidine HCl.H2O single crystals acts as a very good host material for doping lanthanides for efficient luminescent properties at low temperature growth methods, hence this material remarkably helpful in radiation detecting related applications

"Process Control Engineering" is a textbook for chemical, mechanical and electrical engineering students, providing the theoretic fundamentals of control systems, and highlighting modern control theory and practical aspects of industrial processes. The introductory nature of the text should appeal to undergraduate students, while later chapters on linear systems, optimal control, adaptive control and intelligent control are directed toward advanced students and practising engineers. The textbook has been extensively tested in both undergraduate and graduate courses at the University of Alberta. Features of the book include: "Process Control Engineering Teachware" (PCET) on one 1.2 Mb IBM-compatible diskette; summary sections and tables to synopsize basic concepts and key information; coverage of intelligent control; and an instructor's manual.

Multi-database mining has been recognized recently as an important and strategically essential area of research in data mining. In this book, we discuss various issues regarding the systematic and efficient development of multi-database mining applications. It explains how systematically one could prepare data warehouses at different branches. As appropriate multi-database mining technique is essential to develop better applications. Also, the efficiency of a multi-database mining application could be improved by processing more patterns in the application. A faster algorithm could also play an important role in developing a better application. Thus the efficiency of a multi-database mining application could be enhanced by choosing an appropriate multi-database mining model, an appropriate pattern synthesizing technique, a better pattern representation technique, and an efficient algorithm for solving the problem. This book illustrates each of these issues either in the context of a specific problem, or in general.

Tales Of Lawyer Ramachandra Shastry
Tales of Ramachandra Shastry is a compelling narrative that follows the journey of a young, ambitious lawyer navigating the unpredictable and often chaotic world of Indian law. Fresh out of law school, Ramachandra Shastry finds himself thrust into the heart of small-town courtrooms, where justice is not always black and white. As he takes on cases ranging from petty disputes to high-stakes trials, he is confronted with moral dilemmas, ethical ambiguities, and the harsh realities of a legal system riddled with bureaucracy and corruption.Through moments of tension, wit, and introspection, Shastry's journey is as much about law as it is about self-discovery. Each case he encounters forces him to question his own beliefs, his purpose, and the thin line between right and wrong. Along the way, he meets an array of intriguing characters-sharp-witted judges, cunning lawyers, eccentric clients, and unsuspecting victims-all of whom shape his perspective on justice and fairness.Packed with courtroom drama, cultural intrigue, and unexpected twists, Tales of Ramachandra Shastry is a riveting read that delves into the complexities of law and tradition, offering a thought-provoking and entertaining exploration of justice in modern India.

WINNER OF THE ELIZABETH LONGFORD PRIZE FOR HISTORICAL BIOGRAPHY ‘A narrative of startling originality … As discussions of Britain’s colonial legacy become increasingly polarised, we are in ever more need of nuanced books like this one’ SAM DALRYMPLE, SPECTATOR Rebels Against the Raj tells the little-known story of seven people who chose to struggle for a country other than their own: foreigners to India who across the late 19th to late 20th century arrived to join the freedom movement fighting for independence. Of the seven, four were British, two American, and one Irish. Four men, three women. Before and after being jailed or deported they did remarkable and pioneering work in a variety of fields: journalism, social reform, education, organic agriculture, environmentalism. This book tells their stories, each renegade motivated by idealism and genuine sacrifice; each connected to Gandhi, though some as acolytes where others found endless infuriation in his views; each understanding they would likely face prison sentences for their resistance, and likely live and die in India; each one leaving a profound impact on the region in which they worked, their legacies continuing through the institutions they founded and the generations and individuals they inspired. Through the entwined lives, wonderfully told by one of the world’s finest historians, we reach deep insights into relations between India and the West, and India’s story as a country searching for its identity and liberty beyond British colonial rule.
