Memoirs of Medicine; Including a Sketch of Medical History, From the Earliest Accounts to the Eighteenth Century. By Richard Walker,
The 18th century was a wealth of knowledge, exploration and rapidly growing technology and expanding record-keeping made possible by advances in the printing press. In its determination to preserve the century of revolution, Gale initiated a revolution of its own: digitization of epic proportions to preserve these invaluable works in the largest archive of its kind. Now for the first time these high-quality digital copies of original 18th century manuscripts are available in print, making them highly accessible to libraries, undergraduate students, and independent scholars.Medical theory and practice of the 1700s developed rapidly, as is evidenced by the extensive collection, which includes descriptions of diseases, their conditions, and treatments. Books on science and technology, agriculture, military technology, natural philosophy, even cookbooks, are all contained here.++++The below data was compiled from various identification fields in the bibliographic record of this title. The US Lighthouse Board established Point No Point Light Station in 1879 to aid ships navigating to and from Puget Sound and the emerging port cities of Seattle and Tacoma. But the point was long an important place: a landmark for Coast Salish peoples traveling by water to fishing sites and for trade; a thriving community led by Suquamish leader ?al?q?m (pronounced "Challacum"); the site of the 1855 treaty signing that made a large swath of western Washington available for nonnative settlement; and an important foraging ground for fish, migratory birds, and sea mammals. Today, Point No Point is part of the larger community of Hansville on Washington's Kitsap Peninsula. Coast Salish peoples still fish here, and Point No Point Lighthouse remains an important aid to navigation. Fish, migratory birds, and sea mammals still regularly feed here on nutrients brought in from the ocean by powerful tidal currents. And residents and visitors alike are drawn to the point's beaches and breathtaking views.
It's All About Money: It may surprise you but our financial system was not designed to make life simple
Martin Wolf, Paul Krugman, Adair Turner, Niall Ferguson, Robert Peston, Ben Bernanke, Timothy Geithner, Mervyn King and Thomas Piketty are just some of those who have tried to explain the staggering inequality, financial instability, environmental destruction and political conflict and confusion that exist today. These problems are not new. Two centuries ago Shelley urged the many to rise like lions in unvanquishable number. He told them that victory was assured because they were many and the oppressors were few. In 2014 Naomi Klein wrote that the cataclysmic threat of global warming would finally change everything. And the same year Russell Brand, incensed by social injustice, wrote Revolution - the problems remain. By analysing the thoughts presented in books written by more than a dozen experts, It's All About Money shows just what it is that will allow us to say that this really has changed everything and a revolution for the human race can start.

It’s not.Relationship Equity has many nuances, and Walker explores them all in Relationship Equity. To share the story of how he developed the philosophy, he escorts his readers back to the small-town world of his youth in northern England, then onward to his corporate life at the helm of a thriving American tech company.“In our families, our businesses, our communities, our world—we need one another,” Walker writes. “We are not islands unto ourselves.”In his new book, Walker teaches us what he and his company are doing today to pay forward the many acts of kindness that have come his way through the years. Richard Walker has made it his business to change lives for the better, and his business reflects that.
