Method in Teaching Inductive Bible Study-A Practitioner's Handbook: Essays in Honor of Robert A. Traina
The Inductive Bible Study movement has greatly impacted the global church; its influence continues to spread. One of the movement's most seminal advocates and educators-Robert A. Traina, who authored Methodical Bible Study and Inductive Bible Study (with David R. Bauer)-posthumously left substantial, unpublished material on "Method in Bible Teaching." Along with this 54 page essay, this volume assembles twenty essays by educational and church leaders who aptly treat issues of teaching IBS across the curriculum, in the church, and for the academy. Topics covered include pedagogy, hermeneutics, course design for undergraduate and graduate courses, online instruction, using Bible Software, grading comments and rubrics, lessons and assignments, church programs, and discipleship. This book contains the most comprehensive treatment of teaching the Bible inductively ever assembled.

Following up Robert Traina's classic Methodical Bible Study, this book introduces the practice of inductive Bible study to a new generation of students, pastors, and church leaders. The authors, two seasoned educators with over sixty combined years of experience in the classroom, offer guidance on adopting an inductive posture and provide step-by-step instructions on how to do inductive Bible study. They engage in conversation with current hermeneutical issues, setting forth well-grounded principles and processes for biblical interpretation and appropriation. The process they present incorporates various methods of biblical study to help readers hear the message of the Bible on its own terms.

Inductive study compares related Bible texts in order to let the Bible interpret itself, rather than approaching Scripture with predetermined notions of what it will say. Dr. Traina’s Methodical Bible Study was not intended to be the last word in inductive Bible study; but since its first publication in 1952, it has become a foundational text in this field. Christian colleges and seminaries have made it required reading for beginning Bible students, while many churches have used it for their lay Bible study groups. Dr. Traina summarizes its success in this comment: "If the truths of the Bible already resided in man, there would be no need for the Bible and this manual would be superfluous. But the fact is the Bible is an objective body of literature which exists because man needs to know certain truths which he himself cannot know. There are two main approaches open to the Bible student. One is deduction, which begins with generalizations and moves for their support to the particulars. By its very nature deduction tends to be subjective and prejudicial. Its opposite, induction, is objective and impartial; for it demands that one first examine the particulars of the Scriptures and that one’s conclusions be based on those particulars. Such an approach is sound because, being objective, it corresponds to the objective nature of the Scriptures." This book fills the need for a simple, practical textbook in hermeneutics. It encourages the serious Bible student to practice the best kind of hermeneutic, which allows the Word of God to speak for itself.

The support I received after sending out the first newsletter inspired me to keep writing. My goal is to change the way people think of fitness. I call it the "fitness revolution." This book is a combination of education, experience and research all put together and thrown down on paper. These are my confessions as a certified personal trainer. Many trainers will not tell you information like you will read in this book. That is why I call it a revolution. We are breaking away from the norm and developing something new. With science and research as my guide, I will educate you on a new way to train, the right way to training."
T.E.A.M. Training: How To Increase Profitability While Decreasing Employee Friction and Turnover
This book is the "How To Manual" for small to medium size businesses, churches and ministries to build a cohesive TEAM that can face any obstacle and overcome any adversity your organization may face. Many business owners are afraid of leaving their business for any extended length of time. They are afraid of what "might happen" if they are not present and a crisis should erupt. They are afraid of what may happen to a large client's project if a sudden hurdle develops. "What if my people do not know what to do? What if they do the wrong thing?" This book will help the business owner or department head to train their employees and team members to build morale and provide a work environment that can function without direct intervention of the business owner or department head. Robert Thibodeau expounds upon the concept he learned from his 13 year military career about training programs. He used the same concepts to establish a successful insurance agency after leaving the Army. He used the same concepts to make himself valuable to the police department he joined. By using these concepts, he earned rapid promotions because he proved he "knew what to do" in emergency situations. He then trained his subordinates to do the same thing. What was that one thing? To "THINK LIKE THE BOSS's BOSS " It's not enough to just "know your job." It's not enough to be satisfied at the end of the day knowing you did what was required. In this book, Robert Thibodeau teaches employees how to be "noticed" and earn promotions and recognition by doing their jobs - and simultaneously train for their supervisor's job. Usually, just be helping out every now and then. Supervisors can train their employees using these same training concepts. In addition, while training your subordinates, supervisors can also use the same concepts to be training for their superior's role as well. Business owners can use the concepts taught in this book to train their department heads to "Think like the boss thinks " Enforce these training standards up and down the "Chain of Command" in your organization and you will soon be able to take vacations or business trips knowing your people can handle anything that happens Churches, ministries and other non-profits can use these same training concepts to teach their teams, volunteer and paid, how to function better as a cohesive unit. These training concepts are not hard to do They become second habit after just a few weeks of implementation. The main idea is to do them repeatedly. The business owner, the department heads and the supervisors must demand the training policy be implemented and followed. If you do so, you will have a company or organization that will run with what is referred to as "Military Precision " That is what T.E.A.M. Training will do for you
