Avatar of the Temple: A small town lawyer looking for a missing man finds himself entangled in an international assassination plot. Law enforcement and powerful political figures seek to stop him before he can interfere. The story heads to Israel where the lawyer is finally before the only man who can save the world. Too late, he realizes that it is the Antichrist. The Beast at Bay: Having escaped during an Israeli attempt to kill the evil man, the lawyer is hiding on a remote island. Killers sent by the US President find a nasty surprise and become the hunted rather than the hunters. In Israel, the murder of a prominent newswoman is at the center of intrigue in the Israeli Defense Force. The Antichrist plans war to suppress Egypt and Syria before seizing the oil fields. At the moment of victory, he is undone by a mysterious event from the First World War that resurfaces to humble him. The Wrath of God: The lawyer's son, who is in his twenties, has been on the periphery of his father's adventures. Now, he finds himself in the middle of the Antichrist's plan to crush Israel. The trouble is that he's in love with a Jewish girl in Jerusalem. Together, they first live through the Gentile assault on Israel, and then the Battle of Armageddon. After worldwide destruction, a new Israel emerges due to God's salvation, and the two begin a life under Messiah's rule on the earth.
In Armageddon Trilogy, we saw how a small town lawyer became entangled in an international plot to take over the world, beginning with the assassination of the U.S. President. He ends up in Israel thinking he has gotten to the only man who can defeat the evil conspiracy. Instead, he finds himself standing before the Antichrist. He escapes to a remote island when the Israel resistance attempts to kill the Antichrist. Killers sent after him by the new U.S. President find themselves the hunted instead of the hunters. Back in Israel, murder and intrigue in the Israeli army thwart the Antichrist when a mysterious event from World War One resurfaces dramatically. In the last book, the lawyer's son becomes the main focus due to his love for an Israeli girl. Together, they must survive the Antichrist's final ascendance, his attempt to crush the Israeli rebellion, and Armageddon. The Last Champion continues this story a thousand years into the future. The work of one man releases the wicked angels held in chains since Armageddon. As they set out to deceive the Gentiles a last time, another man is selected by God to restrain them until the end of the age is fulfilled. He becomes a man of war: God's last champion.

American political scientist Robert Putnam wasn’t the first person to recognize that social capital – the relationships between people that allow communities to function well – is the grease that oils the wheels of society. But by publishing Bowling Alone, he moved the debate from one primarily concerned with family and individual relationships one that studied the social capital generated by people’s engagement with the civic life. Putnam drew heavily on the critical thinking skill of interpretation in shaping his work. He took fresh looks at the meaning of evidence that other scholars had made too many assumptions about, and was scrupulous in clarifying what his evidence was really saying. He found that strong social capital has the power to boost health, lower unemployment, and improve life in major ways. As such, any decrease in civic engagement could create serious consequences for society. Putnam’s interpretation of these issues led him to the understanding that if America is to thrive, its citizens must connect.

The Lost Ships of Robert Ballard
Robert D. Ballard; Rick Archbold

In the first decades of the twentieth century, luxurious liners and warships ruled the waves. Many of these fabled ships - Titanic, Britannic, Bismarck and others - shared a common bond: their wrecks have been located or visited by the world-renowned deep-sea explorer, Robert D. Ballard. Together, the legendary ships lost during the Second World War and the glory days of the luxury liner comprise an extraordinary underwater museum, around which world-renowned deep-sea explorer, Robert Ballard gives us a guided tour. The book is illustrated throughout with specially commissioned paintings by Ken Marschall, the world's foremost painter of the Titanic, her contemporaries and other famous maritime wrecks. In crisp detail, Marschall depicts the great ships, both in their prime and on the ocean floor in eerie repose. Complementing Marschall's paintings is a vast collection of modern day underwater photography, archival images, illustrations and memorabilia that recall the ships' former glory. In May 2004, Ballard returned to the site of his most famous underwater discovery, the Titanic, to map the ship and analyse the causes and rate of its decay. This latest expedition, documented in a new epilogue, also underscores Ballard's ongoing commitment to the preservation of this unique underwater legacy.
