The present book entitled ""Aquaculture in Reservoirs"" deals with various fishery enhancement tools that can be used to improve the productivity and production of Indian reservoirs. Any fishery enhancement activity in a reservoir should be based on the morpho-edaphic factors of the reservoir. Keeping this requirement in view, the broad coverage on deployment of cage and pen culture methodologies to enhance fish production and use of advanced aquaculture practices were covered. Limnological profile of the major reservoirs and strategies to improve the fish production in these reservoirs were discussed in vivid . The status and potential for applying fisheries management at small, medium and large reservoirs are reviewed with reference to the revised syllabus based on the fifth Deans Committee and ICAR policies as well as the socioeconomic setting and possible alternatives for management systems. This book will be highly useful for students of fisheries university and researchers pursuing careers in fisheries and allied courses.

This book is devoted to new methods of control for complex dynamical systems and deals with nonlinear control systems having several degrees of freedom, subjected to unknown disturbances, and containing uncertain parameters. Various constraints are imposed on control inputs and state variables or their combinations. The book contains an introduction to the theory of optimal control and the theory of stability of motion, and also a description of some known methods based on these theories. Major attention is given to new methods of control developed by the authors over the last 15 years. Mechanical and electromechanical systems described by nonlinear Lagrange’s equations are considered. General methods are proposed for an effective construction of the required control, often in an explicit form. The book contains various techniques including the decomposition of nonlinear control systems with many degrees of freedom, piecewise linear feedback control based on Lyapunov’s functions, methods which elaborate and extend the approaches of the conventional control theory, optimal control, differential games, and the theory of stability. The distinctive feature of the methods developed in the book is that the c- trols obtained satisfy the imposed constraints and steer the dynamical system to a prescribed terminal state in ?nite time. Explicit upper estimates for the time of the process are given. In all cases, the control algorithms and the estimates obtained are strictly proven.

This book represents the second, fully revised edition of the original volume published in 1982. Experience in neuroradiology has confirmed the outstanding value of computed tomography (CT) for the diagnosis of space-occupying lesions within the skull and orbit. It might be assumed, then, that the second edition of this book would simply represent a numerically expanded continua­ tion of the popular first edition. That is not the case, however. Advances in imaging techniques have promp­ ted the creation of a new book whose expanded title reflects its more comprehen­ sive nature. The added illustrations, the revised text, and the expanded circle of editors and contributors document this. Since publication of the first edition, a new modality, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), has become an established neuroradiologic study. We felt it was essential to include this new modality in our book and explore its capabilities as an adjunct or alternative to CT scanning. Because of the high acquisition costs of MRI and the still small number of MR units currently in operation, we have relied in part on images furnished by other institutions and private practitioners, to whom we are indebted. Many problems relating to MR, both in terms of equipment and image interpretation, have yet to be resolved. There is no denying that we still have much to learn.
