Cet ouvrage a pour objectif de contribuer la compr hension des choix de financement des entreprises dans un contexte d'asym trie d'information. En particulier, ce travail a pour ambition de mieux appr hender le choix entre diff rentes cat gories de dettes: dette bancaire, emprunt obligataire et obligations convertibles et ce dans le cadre de la th orie du financement hi rarchique. Des hypoth ses de recherche testables ont t formul es partir de l' tude de la litt rature th orique et empirique. Ces hypoth ses ont, par la suite, t test es sur un chantillon d'entreprises du SBF 250. Trois tudes empiriques ont t men es: deux quantitatives et une qualitative. Les r sultats de ces tudes soulignent que la hi rarchie {dette bancaire, emprunt obligataire, obligations convertibles} est celle qui d crit le mieux le comportement d'endettement des entreprises fran aises dans un contexte d'asym trie d'information. Il semble que cette hi rarchie est choisie non seulement pour combler un d ficit de financement mais aussi pour des fins de signalement.
