Seppo J Partanen tutki Lemmenjoen kultahistoriaa ja löysi kadoksissa olleet valtauskartat vuodelta 1902. Varsinainen kultaryntäys alkoi vasta 1950-luvun lopulla. Seppo J. Tanninen toi esikoiskokoelmassaan Krunoja (Wsoy 1977) runomaailmaan kuvallisen runon, mediumiinsa vangitun olion ailahduksen. Uudessa filosofisessa ja humoristisessa runoteoksessa Korpus Tannisen suksenladut risteilevät milloin Pahajoen maisemissa milloin tuntemattoman vuoren kupeeseen juuttuneina. Yhtä kaikki, vain hiihtäminen ja sen ohesta hikoava kirjoitus on tärkeää. Tanninen kirjoittaa paljosta muustakin, kuten kiihkeän alakuloisia kommentteja Takahashin valaistuneisiin runokuviin, mielen ja maailman tiloista sekä oudoista mutta silti tutuista ilmiöistä erojen ja merkkien tilallistumisessa.

Vanhat valokuvat Kotkasta ja Kotkansaaren kadonneista puutaloista on kuvattu yli 50 vuotta sitten 1960/1970 lukujen taitteessa ja tämän päivän näkymät on taltioitu vuosina 2016 ja 2017. Ennen ja nyt - kuvapareilla pyritään havainnollistamaan kaupunkiympäristössä tapahtunutta muutosta vuosikymmenten saatossa. Sataman kajo -dokumentaarisen valokuvakirjan sisältöön on eri asiakirjoista kerätty myös rakennusten historiaa valottavia tekstejä.
Kotkansaaren näkymiä 50 vuoden aikajänteellä esittelevän Sataman kajo -valokuvakirjasarjan toinen nide Sataman kajo 2 ilmestyi vuoden 2018 lopulla. Kirjassa on 82 valokuvaa ja aikalaisten lyhyitä tarinoita.Sataman kajo 2 on jatkoa sarjan ensimmäiselle osalle, joka ilmestyi heinäkuussa 2017.Kirjaidea syntyi 16-vuotiaana ottamieni Kotkansaarta esittävien valokuvien innoittamana. Kuvista vanhimmat otin 1960-luvun lopulla ja ovat siis jo 50 vuoden ikäisiä.PaikallishistoriaaValokuvista voi palauttaa mieliin kaupunkikorttelit ja niiden taidokkaasti rakennetut puutalot, jotka suurelta osin purettiin 1960- ja 1970-luvuilla.Ilman vanhojen puutalojen purkuaaltoa olisi Kotkansaarelle voitu monin paikoin suunnitella kaupunkikortteleita, joissa eri-ikäiset rakennukset kertoisivat kaupungin syntyhistoriasta ja loisivat omanlaisen tunnelmansa.Sataman kajo 2 -valokuvateos on oma näkemykseni Kotkansaaresta 50 viime vuoden ajalta.
