From intention to preparation, rituals and supplications, this book shows the reader the inner dimensions to make this journey a migration from the carnal self towards Allahﷻ.Hajj and Umrah is a journey from one's abode to the House of Allahﷻ. In true essence, it is the journey of the soul, beyond the dimensions of this life, to the time it will meet the Creator. From wearing the two unstitched sheets to throwing pebbles at Satan, every ritual symbolises an action of absolute submission to Allahﷻ.Hajj and Umrah is supposed to be a life changing act for a believer; However, it so happens that we spend money, take time off our busy life styles, visit Makkah and Madinah and return home, oblivious to the real purpose of this journey. The pocket size book is a perfect guide for a pilgrim and shows one the inner aspects of the sacred journey of Hajj and Umrah which is mostly neglected.ABOUT THE AUTHORShaykh Humayun Hanif Mujaddidi is an author, renowned philanthropist and the member of the Governing body for Liaquat National Hospital Karachi. He has been authorised as a Shaykh by Maulana Shamsur Rahman Al-Abbasi in Naqshbandi, Chistia, Qadriya and Soherwari OrdersHis vision is to purify and connect the individuals to Allah by following the path of Allah's Last Prophet ﷺ. He corroborates Islam as a deen; a way of life and not just a set of rituals. Through his own practical example, he demonstrates to follow Shariah, encompassing faith and action, behaviour and morals, bringing together the practical and the spiritual aspects of human life as determined by the Last Prophet ﷺ.

The Book takes the Seeker on Journey of TruthThe concept of Tasawwuf has been subject to many objections and opposition just like any other discipline or creed. The Westernised orientalists and the Hindu spiritual concepts created a concoction of ideologies around Tasawwuf and Sufis. There has been an objection that the concept of Tasawwuf is Bid and does not belong to Islam as it is not inscribed in Qur n or Hadith. Allah created man to recognise his Lord and this cognizance is not bound by time, age or space. The inner state of the heart has to be practiced; the path of Tasawwuf is a journey to reform the inner self and reach the station of rida. Sufism: Misconceptions and the Reality, book by Shaykh Humayun Hanif is a complete guide for the seekers and takes one on a journey from the origins of Tasawwuf to the reality behind the concepts of Suluk, Tariqa and Haqiqa which are nothing but subservient to Shariah. One of the most prominent Sunni clerics in the Muslim world today, Shaykh Yusuf al-Qaradawi influences the discourse around matters central to the Islamic faith and to Islam's relationship with Western culture. As the spiritual leader of the wasat.iyya movement, he is the voice of the moderate current in contemporary Islam. In this volume, Polka explores al-Qaradawi's life and development as a Muslim scholar and likewise examines the philosophy of the wasat.iyya movement. In so doing, Polka compares wasat.iyya to two rival schools of contemporary Islamic thought—jihadist Salafism and secularliberalism—creating a thorough analysis of the Islamic tradition. Polka offers abroad panoramic view of these three trends and their positions on core issues debated in the Muslim world: Islamic reform, democracy and human rights, feminism, the concept of jihad, and suicide attacks and the killing of civilians. Through his writing and preaching, al-Qaradawi has become the Islamic legal authority for Hamas and for the current generation of the Muslim Brotherhood but remains a controversial figure. While his many students admire him as their spiritual mentor, others have accused him of exploiting his pulpit and his media stardom in order to promote terrorism and violence toward both Muslims and non-Muslims. Polka helpfully explores this duality, providing a much-needed comprehensive analysis of al-Qaradawi's philosophy and the centrist approach within Islamic thought.

Presented here is a general and concise review of the main intellectual, philosophical, and religious elements in the reformation project of Martyr Murtada Mutahhari and the foundations upon which he based his call for the revival of Islamic religious thought. Shaykh Martyr Murtada Mutahhari was a unique personality distinguished from many of his contemporaries for two main reasons. Firstly, the originality and contemporary relevance of his approach. When one surveys the issues covered by Mutahhari, it is as if one is reviewing today's contemporary problems rather than those of the past. He wrote on topics such as divine justice, social justice, Islamic social movements and the Hijab (Islamic veil), amongst others, all of which continue to be pertinent issues that engage the minds of both the young and old. Secondly, the most notable features of Mutahhari are his openness to contemporary issues and his willingness to plunge into the depths of the severe challenges confronting religious thought during his time. What distinguishes Mutahhari from other advocates in this area, however, is that he was simultaneously a reformer and a traditionalist. His defensive role neither drove him towards a closed and introverted outlook nor did his goal of reform lead him to lapse into forsaking core principles. The reader will be left inspired by this unique contribution on the life and thought of perhaps the most extraordinary mind of the 20th century.

The Ramadan DiscoursesSurat al-A'raf (7:156-180) - Surat al-An'am (6:1-31)The tafsir discourses in this book were recorded during Ramadan in October 1971 just two months before Shaykh Muhammad ibn al-Habib died in Algeria on his way to Hajj. They are the only recordings ever made of the teaching of the Shaykh and, as such, represent an extremely precious element of his legacy. His teaching discourses almost always took the form of giving a tafsir of Quranic ayahs that had just been recited and these discourses follow that pattern. It was his custom in Ramadan year on year to remain in Meknes during the entire month and go through the Qur'an from end to end, starting in one Ramadan where he had finished the previous year. In this, his last Ramadan, he began half way through ayah 156 of Sura al-A'raf, which was where he had reached the year before.

This book presents in detail, in both English, Arabic and transliteration, the daily, weekly and date-specific devotional rites of Naqshbandi practitioners, as prescribed by the late world leader of the Naqshbandi-Haqqani Sufi Order, Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Adil al-Haqqani. These practices have enabled devout seekers to awaken certainty of belief and to attain stations of nearness to the Divine Presence. The renewed prominence of this order at the turn of the 21st century, due to the indefatigable striving of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim and author Shaykh Hisham Kabbani, signals an impending change to our society in which aspirants to Divine Service will be granted to transcend the bounds of the physical senses in order to fulfill the unexplored potential in each human heart.

The Wasiyyah of Shaykh Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Sulamī contains forty-six counsels. Each counsel concerns actions Allah and His Messenger (may Allah bless him and give him peace) have commanded us to perform or avoid. Each of the actions in the counsels impacts one's physical, moral, and spiritual well-being and development. The book is a lighter, kinder, and gentler companion to his Infamies of the Soul and Their Treatments. Read together, these two provide a practical toolkit and plan for self-care and development.

Shaykh Mithqal al-Fayiz's life spanned a period of dramatic transformation in the Middle East. Born in the 1880s during a time of rapid modernization across the Ottoman Empire, Mithqal led his tribe through World War I, the development and decline of colonial rule and founding of Jordan, the establishment of the state of Israel and the Arab-Israeli conflict that ensued, and the rise of pan-Arabism. As Mithqal navigated regional politics over the decades, he redefined the modern role of the shaykh. In following Mithqal's remarkable life, this book explores tribal leadership in the modern Middle East more generally. The support of Mithqal's tribe to the Jordanian Hashemite regime extends back to the creation of Jordan in 1921 and has characterized its political system ever since. The long-standing alliances between tribal elites and the royal family explain, to a large extent, the extraordinary resilience of Hashemite rule in Jordan and the country's relative stability. Mithqal al-Fayiz's life and work as a shaykh offer a notable individual story, as well as a unique window into the history, society, and politics of Jordan.

About This BookletIt is known among those who read Shaykh Albani's books in Arabic that he contradicts himself when grading hadith. He may grade a hadith weak in one of his books but then we will find the same exact hadith declared authentic in yet another one. Here is an example: 'Uthman (ra) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) saying: "Spending a day on the frontier in Allah's way is better than one thousand days in any other place."-In his Al-Mishkah, Shaykh Albani said, "It is narrated with a chain containing an unknown (majhool) narrator (i.e., it is weak)."-In his Saheeh Sunan al-Nasaai, he declared it authentic (saheeh).-In his Daeef al-Jaami' he graded it weak (daeef). Some of the learned followers of the Shaykh already know this. Once, one of them was reminded that he claimed Shaykh Albani declared a particular hadith authentic. He was then asked if he was sure if indeed that was the case; here's what he said: "Well, I have looked it up in Saheeh al-Jaami' and Shaykh Albani (may Allah have mercy on his soul) graded it as hasan (fair). I don't know if he graded it as weak elsewhere." If this is the behaviour of some of his learned followers, what are the ordinary people to do when Shaykh Alabni disagrees with himself? In this booklet over 200 examples are given which illustrate how the Shaykh contradicted himself. God willing, more examples will be added in subsequent editions of this bookle
The Lofty Virtues of Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah
If I had to swear standing between the corner of the Ka'bah and the spot of Ibrahim, I would swear that I have not laid my two eyes on anyone like him, nor has he seen anyone as knowledgeable as himself. The author said: When I learned of the death of the scholar and educator of this Ummah - the Imam, the mujtahid, the defender of the pure Shariah and Prophetic Sunnah, Shaykh al-Islam Taqi ad-Din Abi al-Abbas Ahmad bin Abd al-Halim bin Abd as-Salam bin Taymiyyah (may Allah sanctify his soul and brighten his grave) - some of the scholars and those who loved good for the Muslims said to me: You saw and befriended the Shaykh, and you came to know him and his characteristics. If only you could write a few words regarding what you saw in order to benefit whoever of this Ummah comes across them, since mercy descends when we remember the righteous people. So, I responded: I only accompanied him for a few days, and I only know few of this many virtues However, I saw that they intended good and that what they were requesting of me was a right and obligation upon me, as the scholar should be keen to spread and distribute what he thinks will be of value to the Muslims. So, I produced a small effort describing his virtues which will give the intelligent reader an idea of the honor and excellence of this man. I divided it into sections in order that it be a guide to those who reflect, and I included all that I could remember under each one...
