'Taking the Medicine' is a play devoted to issues on a micro and macro level concerning corruption and multi-national corporations, controlling cartels and globalization. The action is centred on a small management committee of a mental health charity, made up from a cross section of British society: an ex-army man, a bohemian upper middle class woman, an older retired businessman, two service users and two new recruits, young men each with a hidden agenda. Focussing on three separate committee meetings, the lives and characters of the committee members are revealed whilst wider issues are brought into the spotlight....
Sachet Mixte Arts Journal is a high quality paperback publication and e-book devoted to the work of 21 artists, covering painting, writing, collage work, mixed media and digital art and sculpture. The journal contains 144 High Resolution images and some extensive journal articles about individual artists and their inspirations. The ethos of the journal is to place artists with varying perspectives and working practices all together in a mixed bag, the only guiding principle being their male gender. In some cases this is the first time that an artist has shown his work and Sachet Mixte is happy to be able to provide a platform for them as well as a showcase for more established artists.
Here we present the Second Edition of the Sachet Mixte Arts Journal. Why Sachet Mixte Women you may ask? Well since late in 2012 we have been producing the Sachet Mixte Arts Journal which was developed to support male artists, many of whom struggle with getting their work out there and with issues of confidence in their art. Now that Sachet Mixte has blossomed and is in fact in its Sixth Edition, it seemed a great time to focus on and celebrate female artists, to help them to showcase their art and boost sales of their works. As Sachet Mixte is bi-monthly we aim to produce Sachet Mixte Women at the same frequency only in between each Sachet Mixte Journal publication. As with Sachet Mixte the format is to showcase 21 artists from around the world although by chance this first edition has a predominance of UK artists. However, we do have representation from Hungary, Japan, France, Brazil, USA, India and Germany. We will aim to have many other countries represented in future issues. We have a small range of artistic styles in this the First Edition of Sachet Mixte Women: photographers, painters, textile designers and jewellery designers and we hope in future editions to broaden this mix. Having said that, the subject matter is even more diverse as you will see here and this makes for an exciting and thought provoking First Edition. Contributors to this edition: T nde L ny -Szabo, Hungary. Lynn Howarth, UK. Carol Meikelham, UK. Kaya Sato, Japan. Marie-France Oosterhof, France. Michele Martinoli, UK. Lindsay Bainbridge, UK. Margaret Evans, UK. Rona Innes, UK. Priscilla Flor, Brazil. Lind Anne Hartman, USA. Kalpana Goyal, India. Ulrike Bernhardt, Germany. Vivian Tong, USA. Michelle Castro, USA. Anna Cicirelli, USA. Lopa Mudra, India. Jenny Robertson, UK. Yonne Taylor, UK. Clare Spencer, UK. Sian Powpreek, UK.

What is Na ve art? Na ve artists capture the now and freeze it in the forever. They create art in a world of their imagination without any boundaries or rules. It's a universe of enchantment where anything can happen in a realm of make-believe. Whimsical, fun, and charming, Na ve art appeals to all ages. "My child can paint like this" is a comment often heard by viewers of Na ve art. Na ve art is not childish. It is childlike, uncorrupted and, with a magical innocence, it imparts a sense of joy and wonder to the visible world around us. Na ve artists find their own technique, sense of expression and style without following convention. They interpret what they see in front of them or in their imagination. The image is transferred directly from their consciousness to the canvas without being filtered. Na ve art is a manifestation of happiness, colour and dreamlike images - a delightful space uncluttered by the harsh realities of the times in which we live.
