This book provides a comprehensive overview of Human Activity Detection or Recognition (HADR) systems. Detection or recognition of human activities is a prominent research area in the fields of computer vision and artificial intelligence because of its many applications in daily life, including monitoring in public transport areas, health monitoring, anomaly detection in traffic, and smart homes. This book divides different activities according to their criticality, then discusses the various motivations and challenges that are involved in HADR systems. The authors then propose a framework for activity detection or recognition. The book also covers ten key applications of HADR systems and the recent developments for each of them. The authors also propose areas for future research.

Artificial Intelligence Strategies for Early Intervention in Neurodegeneration addresses the challenges surrounding the implementation of AI-based diagnoses of neurological disorders. These challenges include the lack of large, high-quality datasets, the necessity for standardization of data collection and analysis protocols, technical hurdles in developing accurate and reliable AI algorithms, and the requirement for regulatory approval and integration into clinical workflows. The book's content provides guidance to researchers on how to develop and integrate AI algorithms and biomarker analysis into their workflow, leading to a significant change in disease diagnosis. These techniques involve the analysis of physiological signals and images to identify patterns associated with specific diseases, and how AI algorithms can analyze medical imagery and movement and speech patterns to identify early signs of neurodegenerative diseases.

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) play a pivotal role in the field of urban planning and management and provide better solutions for numerous urban problems. With GIS, one has the ability to better understand existing requirements of a city and its design to fulfill those needs. This book contributes to developing scientific knowledge based on geospatial technologies among planners, researchers, scientists, professionals, students, and laymen and providing them with better understanding for urban planning and management at various levels. The book manifests the importance of GIS in better understanding of current urban challenges and provides new insights on how to apply GIS in urban planning. It also encourages the various stakeholders of society to participate in the decision-making process and assists planners and authorities to formulate suitable plans for sustainable urban growth of a region. The book is divided into two parts. The first part describes thefundamental concepts of GIS and also deals with the advanced techniques of spatial planning. The second part addresses real-world case studies using various applications of GIS. The case studies include urban land-use changes, simulation of future urban growth, urban heat island, alternate landfill site selection and urban flood susceptibility mapping, among others. This book shows how to integrate GIS with remote sensing, geostatistics, artificial intelligence-machine learning techniques, and other cutting-edge technologies. Readers find this book to be an invaluable resource for understanding and solving problems relating to sustainable urban planning and management.

As a result of the growing population and recurring issues of flood and drought, the need for innovation in plant varieties has become increasingly pressing. Furthermore, the limitations in the improvement of fruit crops, such as extended juvenile periods, high genetic variation, inadequate understanding of inheritance patterns, excessive fruit drop, parthenocarpy, and fewer seeds per fruit, have necessitated the development of various strains of mango, grape, papaya, banana, and guava. These strains are suitable for a range of purposes. The second, fully revised and expanded edition of the eagerly anticipated book Fruit Breeding Approaches and Achievements has been released with the purpose of providing the most up-to-date information on fundamental breeding approaches, biotic stress resistance, and the use of plant growth regulators in fruit development. Additionally, this edition covers the enhancement of a wide range of important fruit crops, including mango, banana, papaya, grape, guava, citrus, ber, aonla, pomegranate, date palm, litchi, coconut, cashewnut, pineapple, and temperate and underutilized fruits.

The necessity to address the challenges posed by a growing population and recurring food shortages due to unforeseen droughts and floods has prompted the development of new plant varieties by horticultural scientists. Additionally, certain restrictions in the enhancement of fruit crops, such as extended juvenile periods, high genetic diversity, limited understanding of hereditary patterns, excessive fruit drop, parthenocarpy, and reduced seed count per fruit, have contributed to the creation of several mango, grape, papaya, banana, and guava varieties for various applications. The publication of the second, fully revised and expanded version of the eagerly anticipated book Fruit Breeding Approaches and Achievements has been undertaken with the purpose of providing the most current information on the fundamentals of fruit breeding, breeding for resistance to biotic stressors, the use of plant growth regulators in fruit improvement, and the advancement of important fruit crops such as mango, banana, papaya, grape, guava, citrus, ber, aonla, pomegranate, date palm, litchi, coconut, cashewnut, pineapple, temperate, and underutilized fruits across a broad range.

In this book, we have revealed a novel type of Schmitt trigger circuit which illustrates some noteworthy result. We have realized the Schmitt trigger circuit by the use of FinFET. The Schmitt trigger circuit is very noteworthy in producing a clean pulse from the input signal comprising of noise. There are various applications of Schmitt trigger circuit in VLSI system such as in scheming the oscillator circuit, analog to digital converter, function generator, signal conditioning and numerous applications. Thus, it becomes imperative to boost its performance by plummeting the leakages and power consumption of the Schmitt trigger circuit.
Public Digital Estate-Role of Commons in Legal Education and Research: Open Educational Legal Information Resources
With the advancement of technology, world witnessed rapid growth of research and development activities. Research and development activities ensued in huge literature outcome. Invention of internet and World Wide Web reduced distances among scientific institutions around the world. Research, education and policy making institutions started sharing scholarly and literary outcome around the world. Great initiatives like Budapest Open Access Initiative, Bethesda Statement and Berlin Declaration played important role in open access movement of digital information. Montreal Declaration during Law Via Internet Conference in 2002 resulted in dawning era for Free Access to Law Movement around the world. In 2010, Durham Statement adopted by law librarians of Law Schools at United States of America, is also counted an important development where all law librarians agreed to facilitate access of law reviews in open access to cut printing cost and greater accessibility of the scholarly articles published in law reviews. UNESCO guidelines for public government information also supported free access to governmental information to public which involves public money. The topic of the book "Public Digital Estate" is actually a combined idea of both the author based on the English law term used for copyright left or without copyright work "Public Domain". Reveal their motivation and inspiration for writing the book. The idea of the book is based on our experiences gained working for law libraries since last fifteen years. Currently India has more than 2000 academic institutions including law universities, departments, affiliated colleges and research institutions. Uneven distribution of financial allocation for law libraries has made greater difference between institutional outcomes. Centrally and few state funded institutions facilitated access of legal information through subscription based databases, however, majority of law libraries have inadequate sources of information. The book is actually being coined for law students, faculty members, research scholars and law libraries in need of extensive research assistance. The idea of the book was not new and spontaneously conceived but a result of long journey of research to tag most authentic, reliable and scholarly assets available in public digital estate. We have contrived to compile this book to collate all best possible free access information including judgements, legislative material, parliamentary documents, law journals and scholarships and books. The book contains ten chapters based on intensive research done on timeline of public domain and open access initiatives around the world. First chapter propounds explanation of public domain, open access, evaluation of open access resources and explanation of relevant terms. Public digital asset or public domain is a term basically used and related to copyright laws. Though in second chapter, copyright laws under the regime of open access around the world and India, and creative common licences, is set forth. A timeline describing brief development of public domain and open access initiatives around the world is peddled for wider understanding and bridging relevance of initiatives in third chapter. Next six chapters postulate public domain legal resources around the world pertaining to parliamentary resources, legislative resources, judicial resources, law reform resources, journals and scholarship, and open access books. In the last chapter open access initiatives in India and various public domain resources useful for legal education and research are posited. We have tried over best to cope up best and scholarly resources available in public domain or open access for law students, faculty and research scholars. Statistical data upto year 2020 has been incorporated in the book.
