The Magic Hill

The Magic Hill

The Magic Hill allows the readers to experience "magic" in a realistic way. This magic is something everyone can have in their lives and prevents that superficial expectation that magic is only shown instantaneously through a show. It emerges internally through giving. As one gives, it not only makes that person feel better, but it helps others in ways never expected. This enables those that were helped to also give, which comes back around. This book demonstrates this idea in a fun story about a "magic" hill that encompasses the cyclical pattern that happens in life through giving and explains how magic actualizes in our lives everyday. It opens our hearts and allows love to flow.
The Life of a Seed

The Life of a Seed

The Life of a Seed is about the importance of giving to others. Each of us is born with special talents that will never be actualized if we are only a seed. A seed needs love, water, soil and sunlight to become a plant. Then, plants give infinitely back with its fruit. Each plant gives something unique (fruit, flowers, vegetables, wheat). We are like the seed. Each of us has different talents and gives these talents to the world in a way no one else can. Just like each seed, we are vital to this world in ways that no one can ever imagine. A seed doesn't require much, but if we don't give the seed what it needs, the seed will stay a seed and the world will forever be without its gifts. This idea of reciprocity is difficult for children to understand, especially children with special-needs. It is also important for special-needs children to realize how valuable their gifts are to this world, even if those gifts haven't been actualized yet. We all start out as seeds and once given what we need to grow into a plant, we can find our gifts and each of our gifts are desired in this world and like no other. But, we will never know our gifts until we grow and we will never grow until we are given what we need. So, let's give and receive and grow and be

Learning to read can be very difficult for children. It is important that the steps are small enough to ensure success. Many early reading children's books immediately cover all short and long vowel sounds together, which is very confusing for first time readers. Through my research, I have found that it is very important to introduce the vowel sounds one at a time. Since there are so many first time reading books that blend too many words with too many vowel sounds together this can be frustrating for children and sometimes makes them want to shut down and give up. Therefore, I created these books so that children can build their confidence when reading. Each book focuses on a particular vowel sound and starts out with simple words for success. This book focuses on the long vowel OO sound. Each book is meant to be read over and over by the parent, then together, and eventually let the child try on their own. When reading the books, point to each word and each sound as you read it. Then, work on blending the sounds as you point to each sound with the child. There are lists of the focus words at the end of each book to practice reading to and with your child. Since each book focuses on one vowel sound, it helps them to succeed in building their reading skills by working on one book and therefore one vowel sound at a time. As your child builds confidence in one book, they can move to the next.Goose the Moose is Loose is about a moose that gets loose and goes on a grand adventure. He does things and gets into things that he shouldn't and at the end of the day he is caught and sent to his room. At the end of the day he sits in his room and remembers his adventure, but knows he needs to follow the rules.Happy reading

Learn to Read for Kids 5-7 uses phonics by focusing on one vowel sound at a time. Each book is written in mostly one vowel sound, making decodable words possible and more palatable. This book focuses on long vowel sounds. This concept was formulated after extensive research at UCLA and works for young children struggling to read, people with special-needs overwhelmed with many vowel sounds all at once and even helps children learn to speak while enabling the brain to focus on one vowel sound until it masters that sound and can move onto the next vowel sound.
