Jews form only a tiny proportion of the Australian population, yet they have made outstanding contributions and have influenced Australian society immeasurably. Stories such as that of Sir John Monash, Australian commander-in-chief during World War I, whose legacy continues through Monash University, show how Jews have reached the highest echelons of Australian society. The Jews in Australia explores what makes the Australian Jewish community different from other Jewish communities around the world. It traces the community's history from its convict origins in 1788 through to today's vibrant Jewish culture in Australia, and highlights the social and cultural impact the Jews have had on Australia. As well as looking at the emergence of a specific faith tradition in Australia, the book also explores how Jews, as Australia's first ethnic group, have integrated into multicultural Australia.

"There is no better portrait of God than in His Word. Though many men held the brush over thousands of years, God directed each stroke, never altering in His purpose." We have access to God on a personal level. He desires to spend time with us, for us to know Him so well that we think like Him and talk like Him, react like Him. Such a close relationship with Almighty God comes only through obedience. Obedience paints such a negative picture in our mind. We see ourselves having to do something we dread and hate. But obedience is how a child of God will grow to maturity. Through obedience, we come to know our loving heavenly Father intimately, and in knowing Him, we find true joy and success. In these pages, author Suzanne D. Williams paints WHO GOD IS from the image He has drawn in His Word of a GOOD God, a LOVING God. Speaking from her personal experience, she shares an image of the Father and Friend, who lifted her from a dark place of fear and panic to one full of peace and love and heavenly light. To a beautiful life, a joyful life, a good life exceeding anything we can ever imagine.

This is a collection of poetry that simply speaks from my heart. I would like to take a few words to thank my family for supporting me in my writing. I have always wanted to have a book of poetry published. Since I was quite young there was always an interest in poetry. And one day I just started writing. The verses go on and on. It's almost a release to me and it does make me quite happy to see this book published. The name "And there was hope" was chosen because life had dealt some turns and wrong ways. I did go down a dark road for a little while. First I had to learn to pick myself up when things went wrong, then I met my husband and was blown away. We now have 4 children, Steven and Julia from my first marriage, Alexa from his and to complete our family together Caroline. So we have a "yours mine and ours" family. We have been through so much already and I only hope that each day we are given will only make us stronger. Thank you Alex for being "The one who brightened the sun".

"Cerise." The pull of her breath flared her nostrils the tiniest bit and lifted her chest. She was beautiful, and priceless, like this house. She didn't deserve to be trapped by all its legends. He's been warned the place is full of mystery, that the old woman living there is peculiar and anything can happen. Yet the Delacroix glass collection is the stuff of fables. To contribute to it could make his career and set him up for a very long time. But soon the stories and legends of the past pull him in, he and the beautiful girl he didn't expect to find there. Trapped together, unable to escape, he finds the most valuable thing inside isn't the glass at all.
